Evidence: Cultural literacy around the world

Hello, my name is Gloria Garcia and this is the story of my trip to Medellin, also better known as
Medallo. A few years ago I traveled to Medellin for a month. I was participating in a sports
competition and I stayed with my cousin and her boyfriend who is from Itagui. I visited many
places and learned about their culture, which despite the fact that I am also from Antioquia, is
very different from mine. Life in Medellin is more complicated and busier and here in Puerto
Berrio we are calmer and not much happens. The people of Medellin, who are called "Paisas", are
quite friendly and helpful.

The climate there is cool so people wear coats for the rain and their way of speaking, which has a
special accent, is quite sticky, I have it, as I said before, I am from Antioquia, but the country is
stronger, they use more times the word like Pues, Ome, Ave Maria, among others

In terms of ideologies, we are equally liberal, we like to party but are very responsible in our lives.
However, there are many religions that are practiced, I visited a Buddhist temple, I saw many
Jehovah's Witnesses, other Pentecostals, in my town there are only Catholic

As Medellin is one of the most important cities in the country, it is highly developed interms of
transportation (the Metro is its greatest pride), education and technology. You can get around by
bus, taxi or bicycle because there are many bicycle lines, so it is safe to move, one of those bicycle
providers is called “Encicla”, this is free. In addition, you can meet people from all parts of the city,
who are working or studying here, making it a perfect place for cultural literacy from all regions of
Colombia. I had the opportunity to visit the Atanasio Girardot stadium and watch an Atletico

I really enjoyed my trip and got to know more about their customs, culture, their way of speaking
and more.
