 Let’s remember the passive voice structure

Object + Verb to be + Past P. (+ subject)

We conjugate verb to be in the

tense according to the context:
Is/are
Was/were
Has/have
Will be

Subjects are sometimes necessary…

The Passive Voice throughout time

The Monalisa was painted by Leonardo Da
Vinci
The Monalisa is being painted by Leonardo Da
Vinci

In this case, passive voice focuses

on the object but still mentions
who did the action.
Passive Voice to talk about services…

…But some other times the

function of passive voice is to
focus on the action, and we
don’t mention who does it!

-like in these cases-

My car was repaired yesterday.

My house will be painted tomorrow.
My photo was taken 3 days ago.
My documents are being translated.
