Data Collection

This chapter is a detailed imformation on how data has been collected

Objective 1

To measure and compare the growth rate of SC 401 maize cultivar in terms of stem height (in cm)
between seedbed A kraal manured and seedbed B non-manured carried out from two weeks after seed
emergency up to tasseling stage done at an interval every two weeks.

Fortnight 1

Date 27/12/18

On the date indicated above i went to the school garden where there is my project seedbeds and i also
took some measures

Activities

I went to the storeroom and i collected some toold and i also went to the school garden where i found
that there are some weeds in my seedbeds which need to be removed.I used a watering cane for
watering my plants.I also used a 30cm ruler to measure the stem height,i only measured three samples
from each seedbed.The results after measuring were recorded in the table as shown below

The table below shows the measurements of stem height after two weeks from seed emergence

On the date indicated above ,i visited my project seedbeds and i also took some measurements

Activities

I went to the school garden where there are my seedbeds.I measured only three randomly selected
plants from each seedbed using a 30cm ruler and a string eas used to measure stem heights.Results
were as shown on the table below

Date 24/01/19

O n the date indicated above,i went to the school garden for taking some measurements of my crops
which were randomly selected from each seedbed.

A ctivities

When i went to the school garden i found that there are some weeds which are disturbing my cops.They
are competing for sunlight and nutrients.I measured stem height using a 30 cm ruler.The results that
were obtained were recorded in the table below.

On the date indicated above ,i went to my project seedbeds at the school garden to take some
measurements

Activities

I went to the school garden and i found that my seedbeds were dry and i managed to irrigate my crops
using a watering cane after that i also took measurements of my crops using 30 cm ruler and also applied
manure in seedbed A.The results obtained were recorded in the table as shown below

The table below shows the measurements of stem height after measuring using a 30cm ruler
