Frank Rollason & Family
73rd and 74th Streets
Frank Rollason, his wife Fran and daughter Nikki, have been
Belle Meade homeowners and an integral part of the Belle
Meade Community for over 15 years. After Hurricane Andrew
damaged their south Dade home in 2005, the Rollason Family
chose Belle Meade as their new residence and our
community so wonderfully gained an important member.
Member Highlight
Frank has worked for the City of Miami for over 40 years rising from Firefighter to Deputy Fire Chief
but has held many positions with the city throughout his most admirable career. Though Frank flirted
with the idea of taking a break, in 2018 he was approached by the Miami-Dade County Fire Chief
Dave Downey and appointed Director of Emergency Management for the County. With the Covid
Pandemic proving serious, Frank has been busier than ever providing PPE to hospitals, nursing
homes, Fire & Police, schools, coordinating vaccination sites and more.
But apart from his incredible career with the City of Miami and Miami-Dade County, Frank has been
an integral part of keeping Belle Meade safe, and entertained, during this pandemic. The Rollason
family led the organization of both the Ghoul Halloween Train and the Grinch Express, bringing joy
and smiles to the faces of children and the adults who live here. Frank says that what he enjoyed
about organizing these events was all the fun the kids in the neighborhood had as the trains made
their rounds.
Frank doesn’t often find much time for hobbies, but he enjoys off-shore fishing when he can and
spending time with his grandson Wally. Wally was the inspiration behind the trains and a key
member of the planning committee, calling Halloween “a functional holiday for the kids, like
Thanksgiving is for adults” and insisted the family come up with something for the little ones that
dress up for Halloween but can’t go Trick or Treating because of Covid. It is apparent that
thoughtfulness runs generations deep in this family!
From the Belle Meade Homeowners Association to the Rollason Family, thank you for being inspiring
neighbors, and for the kind and tireless efforts you have provided back to the community and the city.
We appreciate you!
