 The Story So Far...
Part I: Millennium Approaches

The Latter Days of 1985. New York City.

The Story So Far...

Louis lronson has abandoned his lover of five years, Prior Walter, after Prior
has been diagnosed with AIDS. Flying from guilt and fear, Louis has begun a
hesitant relationship with Joe Pitt, a closeted Mormon Republican lawyer.

Harper Pitt, possessing an "astonishing ability to see such things," has

envisioned Prior within the "threshold of revelation," an intersection of dreams
and reality. Heartbroken by her husband, Joe - and beset with Valium addiction
- Harper has fled their home in Brooklyn for a hallucinated Antarctica, attended
to by the mysterious Mr. Lies.

During a tearful late night phone call from Central Park, Joe confessed to his
mother his homosexuality. In response, Hannah Pitt has sold her house in Salt
Late City and moved to New York - a stranger in a strange land - Intent upon
saving her son and daughter-in-law.

Joe's beloved mentor, the political powerbroker and conservative attack dog
Roy Cohn, is facing disbarment. Having denied his AIDS diagnosis, Roy has
since suffered a series of crippling abdominal spasms. He has been visited by
the specter of Ethel Rosenberg, whose 1953 execution was machinated by Roy.
Ethel has called an ambulance for the man who put her in the electric chair.

Meanwhile, Prior has sought the consolation of Belize, a male nurse and
former lover. Prior fears that the loss of Louis may have driven him mad: he
hears voices, experiences visions, and encounters ghosts of ancestors; they
herald the approach of "the Messenger" and "the Infinite Descent." In the final
moments of Millennium Approaches, we hear the sound of a massive object
plummeting towards Earth. The Angel smashes through Prlor's bedroom
ceiling:

"Greetings, Prophet!
The Great Work Begins:
The Messenger has arrived."
