EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Dry - Wet Food, and Frozen Food has been a soaring type of business in
the Philippines. One thing good about this type of venture is that is not
closeted on the concept of manufacturing and supplying to consumers, may it
be for consumption or small retail business. Ideally, a second-level supplier
would put-up a store of their own to promote a manufacturer’s products.

Dry - Wet Food, and Frozen foods constitutes fruits, vegetables, fishes,
chickens among other food necessities and ready-to-eat food wherein you
simply put oil, and the products are easily eaten.

This business plan would tackle the different types of food under Dry -
Wet Food, and Frozen Food and how to run such business with good sales
and marketing plan. It would help the audience on the geographical and
corporate aspect of the industry; whether they opt to consume or to open up a
business. This may mean that audience would have an idea of the balance
scorecard of the business, and the reason behind the costing and assets
included. Further, the audience would have a brief background on the selling
points of Dry - Wet Food, and Frozen Food. In fact, they would know the
descriptions of each food that would be stated in the plan. Lastly, the legal
basis of operations and what would a businessman would need in order to
sustain this type of products.

As a CEO, Dry - Wet Food are an excellent venture if you are a business-
minded individual with minimal capital at hand for the reason that this kind
of business would surely cost minimal while allowing economic and
environmental sustainability. Businessmen would enjoy daily basis revenue
as to its equivalence to daily market demand for foods that are easy to
prepare. Also, manufacturers would be savoring the concept of second-level
supplier since this business are open for mini stores who want to retail as
said. Consumers to Distributors to Suppliers to Manufacturers would also
benefit from the healthy effects of choosing frozen food rather than fast foods.

In that, it is evident that various retailers have hailed CDO, Pampanga’s

Best, Tender Juicy among others as successful enterprise that first entered this
type of business. All of these brands have raged and dominate the
supermarket, may it be SM, Ayala or to just simple market.

Given this, the conceptualization came easy knowing that these products
are all natural, and eatable with much comfort at home. It is a mainstay in the
refrigerator of every homes, and restaurants who offer fast cooking but
healthy foods.
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

Frozen foods contain crystalline ice within freeze-concentrated solids. The

amount of ice is dependent on temperature and the ability of the solutes to
depress the melting temperature of ice. In frozen foods the amount of ice
affects also mechanical properties by changing the effective glass transition
temperature of partially freeze-concentrated solute matrices and by probable
interconnections within the ice network.

Fruits and vegetables are picked at peak ripeness and often frozen within
hours, locking in nutrients and flavor. Generally, frozen foods retain their
vitamins and minerals and there is no change to the carbohydrate, protein or
fat content. In some cases, frozen foods have more vitamins and minerals
compared to fresh because fresh foods lose vitamins and minerals over time
while freezing preserves nutrients.

Frozen foods can be a convenient and affordable way to incorporate

healthful foods from every food group, including whole grains, fruits,
vegetables, protein and dairy. In addition to a time-saving convenience,
frozen foods can be a benefit for individuals with limited kitchen space or
utensils. Not only can frozen foods be more affordable in price, but they also
can aid in reducing food waste.

OPERATIONAL PLAN

As the business improve marketing and expand distribution, it would see

demand increase from quarter to quarter. But, there is a lot of unpredictability
in the market, mostly from competition. They are also improving, making it
more and more difficult for you to create big increases in demand.

When faced with all of this uncertainty, the business would explore
multiple demand scenarios. Try one then another demand forecast and run it
through the operation simulator. Study the results and their impact on
projected financial performance.

Once settled on the most likely demand scenario, adjust key production
decisions and see if performance can be improved. business would keep
iterating until the most informed decision possible is made in light of the
uncertainty you are facing.

Finally, business would consider an investment in fixed production

capacity for the future. Marketing will be investing in new technology that
will better satisfy customer needs and the business would have new
distribution outlets. All of this should increase demand and the need for more
capacity.

ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

Over the last decade, the business should developed an adequate

environmental control system. Drinking water is pulled from the nearby river
and requires standard treatment before being distributed. Most of the
wastewater is treated and put back into the river for downstream
communities to draw on. Air quality is generally good because the prevailing
winds blow from the rural countryside in the direction of Rizal. It can be a
problem when the wind changes direction and pushes the pollution that sits
over San Rafael in the direction of the community. There are fears that the
arrival of the business will be a tipping point and ruin what has been a
comparatively nice area to live.

Issues Identified

1. Chemicals affecting the workers

2. Small chemical leaks into a nearby stream and ground water
3. Plastic particles getting into the workers’ lungs.

For number 1, as a precautionary measure, employees could use

respirators to reduce the effect of the fumes and epoxy dust. A better option
would be to install the super clean filtering system that is recommended for
dealing with air-born carbon fibers. It would draw the fumes and dust
completely out of the work area.

For number 2, one option might be to collect all liquids that come in
contact with the machines and parts into large underground storage tanks for
disposal in a safe manner. In order to make the necessary changes, part of the
production facility's flooring and drainage system would need to be torn up
in order to install the correct piping and collection tanks. If these corrections
are not made before the next production capacity expansion, the cost to
retrofit the production facility could be quite expensive.

For number 3, the business would transform the entire production facility
into a “clean room.” This can be accomplished by installing a reverse air
ventilation system which draws the air out of the room and into a super clean
filtering system. Such a system would remove all carbon fiber whiskers out of
the air in order to prevent workers from breathing them into their lungs. As
an added benefit, the filtering system would remove other air-born
particulates (i.e., sanding dust) and chemicals and create a cleaner
environment for employees.

LEGAL STRUCTURE OF THE BUSINESS

Legal business form: Partnerships

Partnerships are effectively collections of sole proprietors and, thus, there

are legal issues related to personal liability. There are very few restrictions to
setting up a business with another person (or persons) in partnership, and
several definite advantages. By pooling resources together you may have
more capital. You will be bringing several sets of skills to the business, and if
you get ill the business can still carry on.

The biggest disadvantage is if your partner makes a business mistake.

This could perhaps be by your partner signing a disastrous contract without
your knowledge or consent. Every member of the partnership must shoulder
the consequences equally. Under these circumstances your personal assets
could be taken in order to pay the creditors - even though the mistake was by
no fault of your own.

MARKETING AND SALES STRATEGY

Analysts are reporting that economic conditions improved during the

third quarter by approximately 2%. The growth rate is expected to approach
3% in the current quarter. San Isidro Rodriguez and the rest of big cities in the
Rizal Province could experience a bit more growth as they rebound from
several quarters of decline.

If everything unfolds as expected, the new venture capital money will

most likely be spent on new technology, new sales outlets, more production
capacity, and system improvements. If this scenario unfolds, the frozen food
industry could really take off.

Market analysts are especially excited about the possible introduction of

new technology. If the rumors are true, there will be many new brands on the
market as soon as quarter 5. Market response is certain to be favorable.

Now for the bad news, prices are not expected to improve. Buyers are
remaining tight with their purchases. They are willing to buy, but at the same
price points that we have seen in recent quarters.

Newsletter is also troubled to report that the industry is in the crosshairs

of environmental groups. Right now, their biggest concerns are the possibility
of toxic emissions from the production facilities located in the rural areas near
Rizal. Environmental scientists are investigating this situation.

It is always wise to evaluate competitors' brand designs. It would be a

sure ball that the Dry-Wet Food, and Frozen Food would look at the brands
that have the highest rating in the target segments. The business would also
compare these brands versus our own and discover which features the market
apparently favors. If the best brand is especially good, the business might
adhere to it as brand inspiration.

To add on that, high reliability brands do not break down, which results
in more satisfied customers, fewer complaints, and lower warranty costs. For
this reason, Dry-Wet Food, and Frozen Food would focus on this, and on
advertisements. Additionally, to attract more customers the business would
convince consumers that they have exactly what they want. The business
would built a market research firm has that would be responsible for the
conduct of a research study for the business to find out how ads were
perceived by your customers. Of course, as it is wise to evaluate competitors'
ad designs, we would make the market research more comprehensive.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

Perhaps the business’s greatest surprise is that production facility did not
produce all the units that were planned. The productivity of production
facility is largely determined by the motivation of your workers. Motivation
is, in turn, influenced by the compensation package you offer. Production
workers will produce more if the business give them what they desire and if it
is better than the rest of the industry. When your workers are unhappy, the
number of units produced will drop, and all associated costs will increase.

In that, before the business complete production decisions, it would

revisit worker compensation decisions or build in additional operating
capacity in the expectation that actual production will fall short of planned
production. Also, the business would note the effect of compensation package
on worker productivity and associated costs.

Stock-outs frustrate potential customers and cause ill will. If the Dry-Wet
Food, and Frozen Food has stock-outs last quarter, it will have a negative
effect on the demand of this quarter. The business would be able to
incorporate this demand penalty in projections as it estimate demand.

There is a team of inspectors who inspect every product before it is placed

into the shipping container. In addition to a visual inspection, the inspectors
do a multiple functionality test. Products not meeting minimum requirements
are set aside and eventually sent back to the production area for rework.

Moreover, quality is very important to customers. The reliability of the

current products is low; if it were improved, more customers would be
willing to purchase. And, once the business has built quality into every step in
the production process, it can discontinue the end-of-the-line inspections that
it now use, saving a substantial amount of money.
Hopefully, the business has already undertaken the Employee Survey and
contracted for the Follow-up Studies. The follow-up studies will have
identified several actions that can be taken to improve the quality of
production process, as well as other areas of the firm. These actions will be
listed under Improvement Actions.

The business would find that the Improvement Actions are quite
expensive. Part of the expense is due to the high startup costs for each one. In
addition, the process requires continual discovery of smaller and smaller
problems until performance falls within the desired tolerance levels. As a
result, the business can expect to make large investments for several quarters
until it has achieved high levels of reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness.

UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION

A unique selling proposition, more commonly referred to as a USP, is the

one thing that makes the business better than the competition. It’s a specific
benefit that makes the business stand out when compared to other businesses
in your market.

Forming an opinionated and deliberate USP helps focus the marketing

strategy and influences messaging, branding, copywriting, and other
marketing decisions. At its core, a USP should quickly answer a potential
customer’s most immediate question when they encounter your brand:

“What makes you different from the competition?”

In that, Dry-Wet Food, and Frozen food’s USP plays to the business
strengths and should be based on what makes the business brand or Frozen
product uniquely valuable to your customers. However, being “unique” is
rarely a strong USP in itself. The business would differentiate around some
aspect of its target audience cares about, otherwise the messaging won’t be
nearly as effective.

With that the USP of Dry-Wet Food, and Frozen food are as follows:
(1) Assertive, but defensible
(2) Focused on what your customers value
