We dedicate our 1954 annual to Mr. Lloyd

R. Denier, who has been a teacher in Ti kilwa
High School for five years.

During Mr. Denier' five years in Tiskilwa,

he has given our cla of '54 a lot of cooperation
and friendline . His advice as our ponsor dur-
ing our sophomore, junior, and enior years has
been appreciated by each of us.

Becau. e he has been loyal to our clas and

school through the busie t of our four years,
we are proud to acknowledge his leadership.

We feel, therefore, that it i proper to be-

stow this honor on Mr. Lloyd R. Denier for his
service to the class and to Ti kilwa High School.

chertz, president.

There in the headlin s so black and bold

Oh, no, just look, there's Dick Mill r,
H 's a small time wrestler now known as "killer."
We'll go to the stadium wher he \\T sties tonight,
In high school he got in orne horrible plights.
A Home Ec teach r is Jenny' fate,

Perhaps they didn't know when they were well off, or maybe they
were just gluttons for punishment, but Hercules Nelson's aunt and
uncle had long wanted him to come spend a weekend with them. And
to top it off, they even went so far as to , ay he could bring his bosom
pal, Wilbur Maxw II. o with suitca. es in hand, the boys arrive at
Uncle Bob's, set for a big weekend. That's putting it mildly indeed,
becaus Hercules kno\vs his uncle has taken a n w job, but what he
doesn't know until it's too late is that his uncle is a mortician. That's
right, an und ti:aker. Needless to say, the boy ar terrified. Daphne,
the maid, and laud , the caretaker, try to persuad the boys to stay
but they're all for heading home pronto, especially when th y find
th re's another "gu st" in the house, an old boy named Ja. on Quigley
who "ran out of gas." But th n \Vilbur spots eleste, Here' cou,'in,
and boom-just like that-d cide to stay. Well, it's not long till
things start happening in ways that would put mo t brave men to
flight. For one thing, Mr. Quigley, the guest, walks around, read th
paper and climb into bed with Hercule . He gallivants around in a
mo:t uncorpus delecti fashion. The boy' are mortally terrified. But
they haven't seen anything yet. Mr. Quigley isn't really dead. Some-
one tri d to do away with him \\'hile he was a Jeep, so he evolved a
plan: H 'd make his , ister, Madaline Quigley, and hi lawyer, Harry
Schuster, think he wa dead, then how up at his own funeral and
trap the guilty party. Now Here's for leaving-until he , ee Nina, the
deceased' grand-daughter, and boom-ju t like that-he decide to
tay. Well, no doubt Mr. Quigley had a good plan, but there', two
thing he failed to reckon with: Wilbur Maxwell and Hercule Nel-
son. They et out to solve the ca e and matter , oon go from bad to
wor e to terrible. Hercule. tip.' off Nina that her grand-pop', alive,
she tip off the family, and everything is messed up. Uncle Bob is
implicated and mistakenly cart <;l off to the klink, and the boys final-
ly com' face to face with the culprit, Dr. Brown, the family doctor,
after first getting everyone out of the house who could help them.
The boys finally escape with their n cks, but not before one of the
wildest finishes ever.
