The present simple with the third person:

Affirma�ve form
Hello dear students! Welcome to the grammar sec�on. Today we’re going to see
the present simple with the third person in the affirma�ve form.
The present simple describe rou�nes, habits and preferences.

For example:

Preferences: Jhon writes e-mails in the morning.


(Jhon = he)
He loves chocolates. Write ends in a consonant so we add “s” = writes
She likes soccer very much.
2. If the verb ends in a “ss, x, ch or o”,
It hates bananas
we add “es” to the verb. Examples:
Rou�nes: My brother watches TV in the

He gets up at 6 o´clock. (my brother is the third person).
She studies in the a�ernoon. Watch ends in ch so we add “es” = watches
My cat drinks milk in the morning.
