Senior Geodetic Engineers: GPS/GNSS Networks Summary of Posi The General Commission for Survey (GCS) establishes, operates and maintenances the regional reference frame and a Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) Network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. GCS is settled in Riyadh GSC is recruiting two (2) full-time Senior Geodetic Engineers specialized in GPSI/GNSS Networks at General Directorate of Geodesy and Land Survey, GCS in Riyadh Essential Duties and Responsibil| The primary responsibility of the person will be working on an operational level of GNSS projects in Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) Network, Networked Real Time Kinematic (RTK) approach and web based Online Positioning User Service (OPUS) by implementing existing quality assurance\quality control standards on observations and data processing. Abilities to read and follow corresponding standards and specifications documents and to prepare necessary instructions for the teams and reports to technical advisory and management level It includes office and field activities in: design, deployment and maintenance of CORS network with RTK and OPUS capabilities; permanent and campaign based GPSIGNSS data processing using IGS products; field work planning for GPS/GNSS site selection, deployment, operation and office planning for data processing together with their quality assurance\quality control (QA/QC). Candidates must have “hands-on” abilities on the state of the art software related to CORS operations with RTK and OPUS facilities and to be familiar with analysing GPS/GNSS data, preferably with a large-scale programs such as Bernese, GIPSY, GAMIT, etc., though experience with a smaller software packages or home-grown programs might work as well Qualifications: Degree and area of specialization: Applications are invited from candidates holding a minimum Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Surveying Engineering/Geodesy/Geophysics. Minimum number of years of relevant work experience: ‘A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience is required. Experience in National Geodetic Survey is preferable. Language: Good written and spoken English will be highly regarded. Training and Experience: Page 1 of2 Strong background in CORS, RTK and OPUS applications and software together with GPS/GNSS data processing Experience in GPS/GNSS/CORS site deployment, continuous GPS/GNSS operation, data transmission and data processing, Experience with GPS/GNSS campaign planning and execution on the field. Experience with large-scale programs Bernese, GIPSY, GAMIT, etc., together with other software packages from TRIMBLE, LEICA and etc. Computing skills, including software usage and development in programming languages (matiab, fortran, perl, c++, etc) Additional Preferred Skills: Good spiritual and physical, Outstanding and capable to learn new tasks/ skills quickly , Strong and effective organizational and communication skills, A creative and enthusiastic person with a diverse experience in space geodesy, Proficient in GPS survey receivers, Knowledge and Abilities: Good team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and high level of integrity, Ability to work independently with some work as part of a team as well, Ensure efficient implementation of the designated tasks, Take overall responsibility for timely preparation and submission of required reports, and ensure their quality and completeness.
