It is an honor and privilege to submit the document with you in regards with
conducting HANMUN 2020 in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, tentatively between
1st or 2nd Week of April, 2020.

Introduction
HANMUN 2020 is a platform created and started by youths belonging to various parts of India and abroad. HANMUN stands
for simulation of Model United Nations by the representative heads of Himachal, Assam and the Federal democratic republic
of Nepal. HANMUN 2020 will not only give you a chance to stand out of the crowd but also to present yourself in the best
possible version of yourself.

HANMUN will be organized in the beautiful valley of Himachal Pradesh, popularly known as the land of Gods and Goddesses,
DEVBHOOMI Himachal.

What is MUN?
MUN or Model United Nations, is an educational simulation and/or academic activity in which students can learn about diplo-
macy, international relations, and the working of United Nations.

It is meant to engage students and allow them to develop deeper understanding into current world issues. It will involve
speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. They will develop dip-
lomatic skills and came to know about global issues.

Council Overview

HANMUN 2020 will have total 5 councils of SDGs out of 17 SDGs(sustainable development
goals) which would be the main agenda this time and that would not only make you familiar with the global goals of the UN
but also to present your ideas to change the world.

Goal 1: No poverty
Economic growth must be inclusive to provide sustainable
jobs and promote equality.

Goal 4: Quality Education

Obtaining a quality education is the foundation to improving people’s
lives and sustainable development.

Goal 5: Gender Equality

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary
foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.

Goal 6:Clean water and sanitation

Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of the world we want to live in.

Goal 13:Climate Action

Climate change is a global challenge that affects everyone, everywhere.

WHY HIMACHAL?
The beauty of himachal has always mesmer-
ized people from not only India but from all
across the globe. Situated on the foothills of
the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh is a treasure
trove of pleasant surprises. The undulated
landscapes are its biggest charm – the
snow-clad mountains that glisten under the
umbrella of the sun and its meandering rivers
that tiptoe into green valleys make an everlast-
ing impression.

A multitude of different cultures – from Tibetan settlements to Paharis – give you more chances to look inside its soul and find the
diversity that the nation takes pride in. Himachal Pradesh trekking places combine the thrill of discovery with the wonder of being
amidst nature. Besides, it paragliding, river rafting, and mountain biking in the alpine pastures – there is something for every travel-
er .Yet, there are so many untouched spots that can find if you set on a journey to carve your own path. It leads to:

• Tourism enhancement
• Cultural exchange not only in India but across the globe.
• Chance for local startups and groups for collaboration etc.
• More information about the state to be diversified amongst whole world.
• Being an ecologically diverse state with ongoing huge tourism industry, in order to safeguard its natural flora fauna the
knowledge of sustainability is a must.
