PCA-Politcal Frame Worksheet


Worksheet Objectives:
1. Describe the political frame
2. Apply the political frame to your personal case situation

Complete the following making sure to support your ideas and cite from the textbook and other
course materials per APA guidelines. After the peer review, you have a chance to update this and
format for your Electronic Portfolio due in Module 6.

1) Briefly restate your situation from Module 1 and your role.

The situation that I am choosing to analyze is some what on going. Before COVID it was
more frequent. Honeywell hires a majority of it’s employees from temp agencies in town,
most of the people they bring on don’t have a clue what it is that is done every day and
the amount of hard labor that it takes to do this job every single day. Even though that is
what training is for and a very few make it past 6 months in the job, us employees who
have been there 1+ years and have a system going for what needs to be done have
expressed to management who does the hiring that it really just hurts us more than it
helps.

2) Describe how the politics of the organization influenced the situation.

There isn’t really any politics within my company or at least non that are shown within the lower
than management people. Politics have never really been an issue within my organization until
COVID hit. Working for a company that works on airline products the political side of the
government dictated how much product we were allowed to send out each week and not any
more than what they said. With the amount of product we were being told we could or could not
send out became an issue with how many people we could hire.

3) Recommend how you would use organizational politics for an alternative course of
action regarding your case.

I think I would have to recommened instead of hiring and letting go of temps that we should just
keep the people that we have now that are full time hired on employees. It would save so much
time and money, from the aspect of hiring people, training them than having to let them go
because we don’t have the product to send out so we are all just sitting there wasting time.

4) Reflect on what you would do or not do differently given what you have learned
about this frame.

I would only keep the people that we already had on full time employees instead of wasting
the money and time to training the new people that the company will just let go in a week
when they realize we have no product to send out and we aren’t getting any new product in.
