Introduction
Stress is the physical and mental response of the body to demands made upon it.   It is the result of
our reaction to outside events, not necessarily the events themselves. It is an unavoidable
phenomenon in every aspects of human life and a part our day to day living.Any event or circumstance
that strains or exceeds an individual ability is known as stress

Our group have chosen the Topic “Stress taken by students" to conduct a research on it as Stress is
generally an emotional imbalance in students which is caused by Many reasons including their exams,
Assignment,deadlines,adjusting in a new environment, speaking in front of their class, future job
prospects, and many more . We will be conducting the research by Online survey to find out the stress
levels among students as the stress level of every student is different. We will also get to know about
the most common cause of their stress and how they cope with it. Research will also be showing us
whether girls are more stressed or boys.

Very often stress results from an accumulation of many different pressures which build up gradually
without us noticing and affect the students Physically,  leading to headaches, dizziness, jaw ache and
even insomnia,mentally, affecting our thinking ability. And Emotionnally by causing

irritability, impatience, anger, frustration, fear, anxiety, self-doubt, panic, despondency, feelings of
inadequacy, insecurity, hopelessness.

Literature Review

1. Another Research was conducted by Islamia university of Bahawalpur to find the


common symptoms of stress in university students, to find out its causes, techniques to
overcome it and to recommend strategies to cope up with stress. Survey method was used
by them for their research. They took 200 university students including male and female
of different departments of Islamia university as their sample. They used the
questionnaire for the measurement of their data.

Result: The study concluded from different departments that majority of students felt fatigue
during stress, major cause of their stress turns out to be the burden of studies and assignments
and they agreed that they overcome their stress by watching TV/Movies ,listening to music ,or
taking part in other leisure activities. Students recommended that stress can be reduced by
conducting co curricular activities in academic area.

2. The Research Focused on the issues of stress. The Above mentioned research shows that
main causes of stress are the issues of autonomy, Physical, Cognitive and Social Pressure.
The Research has resulted that Graduate Students are more likely to be the victim of
Stress than undergraduate students

3. The research was conducted by Sultan Qaboos University in India to find out the causes
which let Students to be stressed. There research basically based on how professional
courses such as medical,dental and engineering studies are subjected to higher studies.
This study was conducted from Sept 2011 to Feb 2012 among students from urban area
of Maharashtra, India. They complete their survey through sampling method and
sampling size was 1200. Analysis was done using percentages 299 students out of 1224

respondents experience stressed (24.4%). 115 (38.5%), 102 (34.1%) and 82 (27.4%) were
dental, medical and engineering students respectively. Stress Among Girls is Higher
(27.7%) than thay of boys (20.4%) Arria AM, O'Grady KE Arch Suicide Res. 2009; 13 :

4. A research was conducted by pelagic research library to check the level of stress among
graduate and post graduate students , to check different sources of stress and the people
effected having behavioral factors , psychological factors and psychosomatic factors. For
this a questionnaire was prepared to study the stress among different students . 150
respondents were females and 100 respondents were males. This makes the sample size
250. The data analysis includes descriptive analysis . Two parts questionnaire set was
tool for this research. Part A is about different stress related symptoms, B measures
stress level in leading a student life in colleges

RESULT : It has been found that various symptoms that lead to stress are seen mostly more
in females than males. The division of all the students were not equal , out of 250 students
private college graduate includes 15% and 12% of male and female. However private
college post graduate includes 10%male and 13% female . In government colleges graduate
and post graduate includes 20% and 8% males and graduate and postgraduate females
includes 8% and 15% . The source of stress in females is mostly because of physical/ mental
issues , job issues and social issues . Whereas males have job and social issues . Mostly
people are effected having disturbed relationship ( behavioural factor) , anger ( psychological
factor) and headache ( psychosomatic factor)

Objective

● To find out the main cause of stress among students.


● To check if more girls are stressed than boys.
● To find out the most common way to reduce the stress levels among students.
● To check different stress levels among students.

HYPOTHESIS

● The most common causes of stress are assignments and burden of studies.
● Girls are more stressed than boys.
● Students relieve themselves from stress through social media or watching movies/tv
series ,listening to music or participating in some physical activities.

METHODOLOGY
SAMPLE:

1) Total 30 students are going to be the part of our research.


2) From total, 15 will be girls and 15 will be boys.
3) The age of students will be 19 or above.

Material:

1) An online survey will be conducted from the students. I.e. questionnaire.


2) We will ask total 10 questions from the students.
3) One or two questions will be general based , four or five will be related to measurement
of how much students are stressed and remaining will be associated to the cause of stress
and how to relieve the stress.

Procedure:

1) Through online survey all the questions will be asked from students.
2) In that procedure we will tell them about the topic of survey and give necessary
information about topic and will mention that it will be confidential
3) Second, they will be asked about gender and age .
4) We will type our questions in sequence on the Google form and send those
questions to our experimental group on whatsapp.

5) It will take some days to collect response and we will consider only first 15 girls
and boys and analyse those responses and make conclusion.

2) Helps you to go out of your comfort zone and implement action.
3) Helps you to extend your limits.

CONS:
1) Develops depression.
2) Plays with your emotions.
3) Exhausts the body. (physically and mentally both)
