What is Work Immersion

This program was implemented under the DepEd order No. 40 series of

2015, that consisting of 80 hours of hands on the workplace.

The purpose of the immersion is to improve the skills of Senior High

School. As a student a

student this activity aim to

help us to build up our

skills because of our

actual work in the

company. This will serve

as us immerse properly

we're required to do our

work immersion in a minimum of 10 days, 80 hours 5o complete of our

project.

I will expect that every

day I go to the company or

training is always challenging.

In behalf of this training, I can

able to learn more techniques

and how to perform the task

very well. There is a lot of

techniques that we need to

learn, such as how to conduct

to the proper procedure and most of all how to do our job properly. The work

immersion is a kind of very challenging because there's a lot of procedure but

it was the kind of educational activity that was given by the DedPEd for our
own career. By the help of this work immersion, we can get more knowledge

and to improve our skills.

As a bosconian when I

go to work, I need to be

punctual and have respect to

the employees of the company.

It is because RESPECT is the

most important to all of us. If

we have respect to each other,

we can create a harmonious

good relationship to others and

it shows a real Bosconian. In

Don Bosco we are taught the importance of cleanliness that we will always do

the 5'S. In Don Bosco also ai improve my Skills, there's a lot of learnings that

help me to be more physical fit as a person.

Every day I go to the work immersion I always show respect to the

others. I never obey the job trainee because each Bosconian was a good

Samaritan. It helps me to build my knowledge because I learn some

techniques that on the past days I couldn't have learned. Through the

immersion we build our knowledge more flexible.

How to Conduct Inside the Company

Every time we start

our immersion, we should

not forget the word respect

and punctual because it is

a kind of activity that is very

important in everyday

doing. Be punctual, be on

time because if we are late this could affect the record into the company. But,

if we show the punctuality there is a chance of promotions, may the company

promote us because of the attitude that we have.

When it come in the safety of the company as I observed they are very strict

inside the shop. In terms of dress code, a trainee must have to take the

personal protective equipment (PPE) to make our self always ready when we

are inside the shop. The PPE is very important because it protects us (the

trainees) from work hazardous. And Every time we are in the company, we

should always remember that 5'S, we always maintain cleanliness. It is

expected that I already comprehend distinctive techniques and procedures

that ai understand. Therefore, I conclude that work immersion is all about

enhancing one's talent, skills, abilities and capabilities that one may pertain in

everyday life. It is more on improving our self to become strong and

responsible enough.
MY PERSONAL GOAL IN WORK IMMERSION

My personal goals

when I go to work

immersion is that I need to

be punctual and have

respect to others specially

the people on the company,

it is because if we show

respect maybe you can get their attention and we will be going to be friends

and it is easy for me learned more techniques because we have our friends

who teaches us. We must extend our help to others. In terms of my

knowledge, I would like to improve it precisely through by observation, and

also the guidance of my chief. It is because my knowledge about my course

which is I.F.T is limited and I need to improve it very well. In regards with my

skill, it is not enough so that I need to go more several training. As a

Bosconian I will always do my duty extraordinarily when I go to the company.

And as Senior High School Student my goal is to fulfill my project ahead of the

time and also to make my dreams come true. When we are in the company,

we should do our duties and responsibilities. We should always remember our

daily chores that Bosco teach us.

REFLECTION PAPER

In my experience of my work

immersion time, I’ve learned a lot of

things that I never encounter

before.

After many times that I do

my responsibilities, I learn different

techniques on how to manage my

time at work and how to appreciate

little things that can help me to improve myself. There is also time that I feel

sad on the farm but still I learn to manage my feeling enable for me to

continue my tasks.

During the time I work on

the animal production and in the

farm, I was happy that even

through my hard times as a student

I still manage to conquer it and

experience this kind of tasks and

works that I never experience

before because to be honest I have

a bad performance in my academics but still I manage to finish all of it and

join this work immersion.

Experience is the best way for me to improve myself and I guess that is

the main goal of work immersion to us students.

WRITTEN REPORTS AND ACTIVITIES PERFORMED

A moment of music and ambiance is what I encountered in my 2 weeks

of work immersion. Everybody of our group wake up early in the morning

around 4:30 to 5:00 O’clock in the morning to prepare for the upcoming tasks

of the day. During the day we start our tasks I encounter a lot of different

experience that we first encounter like pasturing the cows and carabao,

getting some grass for the goats, feed the swine, cleaning the entire poultry

house, plot making, fertilizer making, planting crops and many more. We also

thought on what proper tools we should use in every task we have to perform,

how to conduct 5’s in the shop and what are the proper PPEs we should wear

to ensure our safety.

I am very thankful that experiences this kind of activities. Even if it is

not easy for me but I still neglect to think that it is hard in order for me to

achieve my dreams and for my future.

COMPANY PROFILE

The training center was operationalized in 1995 offering training

courses in mechanical and automotive technologies. The center is effective in

its program because it is able to qualify the graduates to address the skills

requirements of the small industries in Mati and the big ones in Davao.

However, the distance of Mati from Davao is a critical factor in the job

placement of the trainees. With this, Don Bosco addressed then situation by

providing training programs that are not only relevant to local needs but can

likewise generate gainful local employment. Hence, in 2003, the center

opened the Agri-Mechanical and Integrated Farming Technology.

KINDS OF BUSINESS

Don Bosco Training Center Mati is an institution accredited by TESDA

that offers Technical and Vocational Education and Training Programs (TVET)

under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)

and the Department of Education (DEPED). They also offer senior high

curriculum for upcoming grade 11 and 12 with Technical Vocational course to

choose.

Don Bosco offers the following specialization: For TVET students who

use to finish senior high school, Don Bosco offers: Machining Technology NC

2, Automotive Servicing NC 2, Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC 2, and

Motorcycle Small Engine Servicing NC 2.

For Senior High School Students, Don Bosco offers: Automotive

Servicing NC 2, Motorcycle Small Engine Servicing NC 2, Civil Technology

NC 2, and Integrated Farming Technology NC 2.

WEEK 1

First week of my Work Immersion. I prepare the things that I really

need for my staying inside the DBTC. We start our day by waking up early in

the morning and immediately prepare myself for the upcoming tasks and

works. When I was in the activities, I felt nervous and excited. During my work

there are many activities that really build me for who I am and also builds

better connection of me to my groupmates. This week we focus on the animal

production. We do 5’s, disinfection, and rebuilding animal cages. We also give

vitamins to the goats and deworming for the swine.

WEEK 2

The last and final week of my immersion. The activities the we mostly

focus on this week is in the crop production. Me and my groupmates usually

assigned at the fertilizer making and planting of crops. By the last two days of

this week, we focus on the gym garden and the back area of the stage where

we clean it up and give it a new look. And the day has come for us to leave

DBTC and we fulfill our immersion with smile.
