Course description: Course description: Genetic engineering is the process where the
genetic makeup of an organism is changed through technologies. The goal of genetic
engineering is to introduce new characteristics. The course is designed in such a way that
the students are able to learn the underlying principles of genetic engineering and current
applications in areas such as agriculture, medicine, forensic, environment, and industry.
Learning Outcome: By the end of this course, the students will be able to know:
in detail the applications of genetic engineering and molecular techniques which
form its basis
how to appreciate the range of techniques use in genetic engineering and
commercial production
basic knowledge of molecular biology and the application in terms of genetic
engineering
technology and methodology in genetic engineering
application of genetic engineering
