Questioning Assessment

Candidate Instructions

You will complete questions for purposes of formal assessment as per the questions outlined in the
questioning record below, and any additional probing or clarification questions required by the assessor.
The Knowledge Activity is designed to confirm your competency for all the required knowledge in the unit of
competency.

Task Details
There is no restriction on the length of the question responses, or time restriction in completing the
assessment. It is anticipated however that the assessment will take approximately 2 hours to complete,
and word limit is unit as a guide only.

The assessment may be re-attempted on two further occasions (maximum three attempts in total).All
assessments must be resubmitted 3 days within receiving your unsatisfactory grade. You must clearly
indicate “Re-submission” on your resubmitted work.

You must complete all questions unassisted by the assessor or other personnel but may refer to reference
material as may be needed.

All questions must be answered satisfactorily for the assessment to be completed satisfactorily.
For any assessment conducted that is incomplete, or without satisfactory performance, the assessment
will need to be completed again after further training support. This may be simply to focus on question
areas not achieved in the prior assessment.

Evidence to be collected

Answer the activity in as much detail as possible, considering your organizational requirements.
In undertaking this assessment task, you as the candidate are providing consent for your work to be
reviewed for the purposes of formal assessment in the unit(s) of competency. If you have concern
regarding this permission, please discuss this with your assessor prior to undertaking the task.

Task 1: Knowledge Questions

a) Give two (2) examples of business-related systems and two (2) examples of business-
related procedures

Question 1 b) Explain how the selected systems could be used to support effective continuous
improvement.

(Each response must be 40 – 50 words in length.)

Answer:
There could be a number of business related systems and procedures in any organization. A
commonly used systems and procedures are as under.
1A. Employees Management system
It also known as human resource department. It is responsible for hiring, training, monitoring
the employee’s performance.
1B. Knowledge Management system
It is responsible for the management of information, internal and external data.
2A. Employees Training process
This process is responsible for the training of new employees. Following questions need to be
asked.
Who is responsible for training and guidance?
How long it will go?
What is the process of mentoring?
2B. Information Collection process
There are different ways to collect the information like surveys, meetings, opinions and
experiences etc and then save at knowledge management system, so next time anyone could
use it without starting from zero.
Part B
These systems are used for continuous improvement of employee’s performance and their
development through training, performance evaluation and posting at suitable role.

Answer:
Every system and process has a space for improvement all time. Important continuous
improvement system are
1. Employees Management system
2. Product development system

Select one of the systems or processes from question 2 and explain how it is related to

b) performance management

d) Sustainability.

Answer:
I’ll discuss the product development system in this part.
A) Knowledge Management
The process of product development, manufacturing and improvement are developed
and stored under knowledge management system.
B) Performance Management
Performance of product and manufacturing reviewed under performance management
system.
C) Quality
Quality of the product discussed and necessary improvements are made for product.
D) Sustainability
it is about the environment sustainability whether the product is sustainable or not. If
there is any harm to the environment, how we could cope with it.
