Requirements:
 Method of Deoxidation – Fully Killed Steel
 Delivery Condition – Normalized / Normalized or Annealed.
 Normalizing Temperature –830 – 860 ° C
Chemical Composition:
The ladle analysis of the steel shall be given as below.

1. The steel is killed by Aluminum , the total aluminum content shall not be less than 0.02 %
2. When Nickel, Chromium, Copper, Molybdenum and Vanadium are added, the content must conform
to one of the following :
 Nickel : 0.30 max
 Chromium : 0.30 max
 Copper : 0.25 max
 Molybdenum : 0.05 max
 Vanadium : 0.05 max

 Ultrasonic Test as per ASTM 578 Level B for all thickness.

 Surface Quality should be free from deep nicks, laps, mill scales, pitting marks and Cracks etc.
 All the plates should be legibly marked for – Manufacturer Name, PO Number, Destination,
Grade Specification, Format Size – Thickness X Width X Length, Heat Number, Plate Number,
Country of origin (if imported)
 Normalizing Temperature should be mentioned in MTC for every Heat Number.
 Bend test should be done as per the below figure and Internal bend diameter should be mentioned in
the MTC.

Bend Test Reference Figure:

Test Piece Size should be – 32 mm Thick X 50 mm Width X 230 mm Long
