ST-GL-HAL-HSE-0415 Section 4.0 Requirements

(not inclusive-refer to the controlled version of the Standard to review in its entirety)
4.1 General
4.1.4 A complete periodic inspection shall be performed by a Qualified Person not to exceed 12 months for all slings and
below-the-hook lifting devices in regular service.
• A written record of the most recent inspection shall be maintained and shall include equipment identifier
and the condition of the sling or below-the-hook lifting device.
4.1.5 Damaged or defective slings, rigging hardware or below-the-hook lifting devices shall be immediately removed from
service.
• Slings/rigging hardware/below-the-hook lifting devices that are removed from service shall be in marked
“Do Not Use” and quarantined until they have been destroyed.
• The lifting equipment register shall be updated to show the date the sling was destroyed.
