TITLE:

Practical Session
Oil & gas exploration:
an interpretation exercise

LECTURER:

HARDIANSHAH BIN SALEH

PREPARED BY:

AIMAN HAZIQ BIN ARMAN (BK19110270)

1) Using the well-seismic tie method, produce an interpreted horizon / rock formation (using
a different coloured).

The highlighted horizon is based on the color given in the exploration well data. The highlighted
horizon is the layer assumed to be the first layer of the type of rock.
2) Mark any faults on the section (black line).

The type of traps observed on this seismic data is normal fault, reverse fault and anticline fault.

3) Locate the zone of oil or gas accumulation.

The circle brown is the possible oil or gas accumulation. This is determined by the possible
source rock and caprock.

4) Propose production well location and maximum depth (in ms)

The proposed well location is the conventional reservoir. This is based on the well data
and data given.

Limestone has the permeability of conventional reservoir which is higher than 0.01md.
The depth of the red well production is 985ms while the orange well production is 920ms.

5) Assess the reservoir if need an injector well. If the reservoir needs that, propose location
and depth (ms) of injector well.

These are the proposed well production that need an injector. The reason is even the
sandstone has a great porosity, but it is an unconventional reservoir due to its low
permeability. The red reservoir is 347ms while the brown reservoir is 390ms.
