Dear Mr. Webster: This weekend | was notified of a power outage by constituents affecting the Elk Valley area on Saturday, June 26, 2021. When | contacted Metro $11 to determine the Power Outage status, | was notified that Appalachian Power had not reported the outage to Metro 911. We contacted Appalachian Power to obtain the information about the outage, at which time AEP then sent a press release out about the outage, | understand that work is being conducted on the equipment in the Elk Valley area owned by AEP; however, this equipment has been neglected for numerous years. AEP is requesting a ridiculous rate hike while they left more than 2,00 households without power in 90-degree weather on Saturday without providing any information on estimated restoral times. |/am once again expressing my dissatisfaction with the proposed rate increase Appalachian Power has requested from the Public Service Commission. | am also speaking on behalf of my constituents of the entire County when | say they deserve to have better service and certainly deserve to know how long a power outage is going to affect them so they can prepare and our Emergency Services Officials can plan if they need to have cooling shelters opened, Sincerely, W tut lor— W.
