This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by October 2000, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by December 2001 According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. This standard is one of a series of standards for the evaluation of the thermai performance of building materials and products. 1 Scope This standard gives design data in tabular form for heat and moisture transfer calculations, for thermally homogeneous materials and products commonly used in building construction, It also gives data to enable the calculation and conversion of design thermal values for various ‘environmental conditions. “Tk eunsaetrei ttah TSE at, Sangin nae ie 2 TSE as APVON KOCATE®E UNVERSTESI AMET NECOET STE RAMEUSD MADEN MAEM BOX OM ei apna TSE cent aeosan ann br okra bas ener, bts Page 3 EN 12524:2000 2 Normative references This European Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference, provisions from other publications. Design thermal values can be derived from declared thermal values by applying the conversion Procedures in EN ISO 10456. This is normally the case for thermal insulation materials. The method of determination of the declared thermal value for an insulation material is specified in product standards. Design thermal values for masonry materials are usually derived from the thermal conductivity in the dry state using EN ISO 10456. NOTE The thermal conductivity in the dry state for masonry materials is given in prEN 1745:1994, Masonry and masonry products - Methods for determining design 4.2 Tabulated design thermal values Table 1 gives design thermal values for materials in general in building applications. When appropriate, linear interpolation may be used. For insulation materials and masonry materials, Table 2 gives the moisture content of materials and products in equilibrium with air at 23 °C and relative humidities of 50 % and 80 %, and ‘moisture conversion coefficients taken from EN ISO 10456. Table 2 also gives the water vapour resistance factor and specific heat capacity for these matetials. Table 3 gives the water vapour diffusion-equivalent air layer thickness for thin layers. > Volume ofievaporable-water-divided.by.dry.yoluane.of materials: sts {AEVON OcATEPE ONVERSITES| AMET NECOET SETERKAMPUSU MADEN MOVENOSLSIOOLUMs vr. atin Seen "Seen kn amar stancranb tntanan oa abn bata, Page 5 EN 12524:2000 Table 1 - Design thermal values for materials in general in building applications Material group or application Specific | Water vapour Density heat | resistance conductivity | capacity | factor e, a & H kgim' Wi(mnk) dikgky_| dy wet Lasphat 2100 070 1000 —| S000] 60000 ttumen Pure “050 047 1000 [0000 | 50000 Fett sheet 1100, 023 4000 [Concrete ** Medium density 100 115 1000 2000 135 4000 2200 tes tooo Hh density 2400 200 4000 Reinforced (th 1 % of tee) 7300 23 4000 Reinforced (wth 2 % of see) 2400 25 41000 Foor covirings Rubber 1200 o47 1400 Paste $700 028 ‘400 Underiay, cellar rubber or 20 0.10 1400 paste Unceriay, ot 120 0.05 1300 Uncerly, woot 200 O08 ‘300 Undaiy, cor 0 208 4500 Tes. cork sao 1068 1500 Carpet tee foorina 200 0.06 #300 Unoteum 1200 on? 1400 ae 123 0.005 roe | 1 | 4 Savon oxite tes ote eo | 1 | 4 ‘aon 170 0017 rn on Sulphur hexaftuoride eae bors ea | 1 | 4 Kevoton 356 ooo | ms | + | 4 Xenon 568 0.0058 so | + | it ase ‘Soda lime (incl. “float glass”) ‘2500 1,00 750 o - Quart 2200 140 mo | 3 |S Siass mosaic 2000 120 mo | S | 2 [rater loo at-10°C 820 290 2000 lee t °C 900 220 2000 Snow freshly fllen (< 30 mm) 100 O08 2000 Snow, sot (30.70 men) 200 oe 2000 ‘Snow, slightly compacted 300 0,23 2000 (70. 400mm) Sow, compacted (< 200 mm) 500 060 2000 Water at 10°C 1000 60 4190 Water at 40°C $90 063 4190 Water at 80°C 370 og 2180 a ‘Auinium ays 2000 160 ao | « | « Bronze 700 6s a | so |e Brose 2400 120 ao | co |e Coober 8900 380 wo | s | iron, cat 7500 30 a | o |S ead #1300 3 mw | so | s Steet 7800 50 wo |e] s Slainessstel 7900 7 wo | o |e Zine 7200 10 wo | s |e {0 Sanderson i hath 9) a.
