Who are we?


The Buddy System matches qualified educational professionals with clients, providing a wide
variety of educational services for all ages. Our offices in Northern and Southern California and
Arizona serve families, schools and corporations throughout California and Arizona.

What is an Independent Contractor?


As an Independent Contractor, you choose which tutoring students to accept and schedule your
own hours. We send you a 1099-MISC form each January. Taxes and social security are not
deducted from your wages, but remain your responsibility. Some expenses associated with your
work may be deductible. Contact your tax professional for more information.

How can I get more work from TBS?


The Buddy System has been built on word of mouth references, so we rely on our tutors to
represent our program professionally. We prefer to work with tutors who are confident, reliable, and
consistent. Your clients’ recommendations build your reputation with us. Communication is key to
anticipating and solving potential problems before they start. Please let us know whenever you
need guidance or support.

What if I feel the student’s teacher should be contacted?


We contact the teachers and school counselors at the parent’s request. If you feel there is
information that should be shared between the Buddy System and the school, let us know and we
will be happy to make that contact.

How can I log in to change my profile?


Please go to http://www.buddysystem.com/tutor_area and enter your email address and password
to log in. Here you may edit your profile, and view your clients and their notes. You may also view
more tutor specific FAQs there.
