This will be expounded through studying the lives of the most famous Muslim scholars in Nusantara. The importance of this study lies in it assisting readers and researchers alike who are concem with the history of this region according to the life story of these schokirs and diet coutiibuliow In addition to this, it will also shed light on the intellectual efforts in the preservation of Jawi. This research thus presents a case study on thirty Malay Archipclgo scholars, analysing their life contributions in different eras and stages of history. Even though they come from different times in history, a veneral effort is made to get a uniform contribution from all of them These scholars were selected due to two important reasons. Firstly, they were born and raised in Nusantara, and secondly, their paramount passion to the development of the commumity in the Maby Archipelago through their outstanding schokrship. The findings of this reseatch proves dat Ue preservation of the Jawi script was due indebted to the passion and preoccupation of the scholars and the Sultans on the Jawi script was due to the importance given was in preservation of the of the Qu’an and Sunnah, which permeated the culture and language of Nusantara.
