• In 1975, TCS Company delivered an electronic depository and trading system called SECOM

for the Swiss company SegaInterSettle.

• In 1980, TCS established India's first dedicated software research and development centre,
the Tata Research Development and Design Centre (TRDDC) in Pune.

• In 2004, TCS became a public listed company.

• In 2006, it designed an ERP system for the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation.

• By the end of 2008, TCS were generating over US$500 million in annual revenues.

• In May 2013, TCS was awarded a six-year contract worth over 1100 crore to provide services
to the Indian Department of Posts.

• In July 2014, it became the first Indian company with over 5 lakh crore market capitalization.

• TCS announced 24 percent year-on-year rise in profit of 8,105 crore in financial year of 2019.

• TCS received 2019 American Business Awards from Four Stevies.

• Chairman: - Natarajan Chandrasekaran is the chairman of TCS also he chairs the board of
several groups including Tata steel, Tata motors, Tata power. He joined the Board of Tata
group in October 2016 and was appointed as Chairman in January 2017. Under his
leadership, TCS generated total revenues of US $16.5 billion in 2015-16. He served as the
chairman of NASSCOM which is the apex trade body for IT services firms in India in 2012-13.
He has received numerous award including Business Leader of the Year at the ET Awards for
Corporate Excellence 2016, Indian Business Icon', 2014 by CNBC TV 18, Best CEO for 2013
and 2014 by Business Today.

• CEO: - Rajesh Gopinathan Rajesh is one of the youngest CEOs in the Tata Group. In 2001,
Rajesh joined Tata Consultancy Services from the Tata Industries and worked to drive TCS’
newly established e business unit in the United States. After serving as the Chief Financial
Officer of the company for 4 years, he was elevated to the role of Chief Executive Officer in
February 2017. Rajesh has played a key role in helping TCS become a 22 billion global
company at the end of fiscal year 2020.

• Along with them the other board of directors are O. P. Bhatt as Independent & Non-
Executive Director. N Ganapathy Subramaniam he is currently serving as Chief Operating
Officer & Executive Director, Aarthi Subramaniamm she is Non-Executive Director, Dr.
Pradeep Kumar Khosla who is Independent Non-Executive Director and Keki M. Mistry as
Independent Non-Executive Director.

• CSR initiatives : these are the initiatives taken by TCS.

• TCS promoted the concept of environmental sustainability among employees in a unique


way by purpose of life. By joining hands with NGO Tapitas, TCS told their employees to
collect plastic bottle caps and drop them off at work. For every 1,000 caps collected, the
NGO helped a child in need receive cancer treatment, thereby tying up environment
protection with a good cause.

• By keeping In minds about health and fitness of young children’s, TCS has set up sanitation
facilities at public schools as part of the Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. TCS
also provide free health treatment to needy at Tata Translational Cancer Research Center
which is at Kolkata, the center creating a better future for patients with cancer in India.

• In association with NGO Change the World, TCS has build training center at Diepsloot, south
Africa. these centers offers scholarships to youth between the ages of 16 and 26.

• To empower people from communities they provided a 100-hour program that has provided
well-rounded education to over 66,000 youngsters from marginalized communities so far,
and also IT Employability Training, which has trained nearly 2,400 students from rural
engineering and science colleges in technical and business skills and general aptitude.

• TCS has partnered with several organization which include AWS, Google cloud, HP
enterprise, IBM, Microsoft, oracle, dell in which they advisory cloud services , Data &
analytics portfolio, security services . these services helps companies to achieve superior
business outcomes.

• Tata Consultancy Services has acquired several companies over the past years. The first
acquisition was CMC followed by Airline Financial Services, their recently acquired bridge
point group in November 2018, the company is situated in United States.
