Romullo was appointed CEO of Atanacio’s Enterprises upon the death of his father.

open and transparent to outside investors. There ware pressures from the shareholders to
reduce costs and increase profits. In response, Romullo implemented cost-cutting
measures including downsizing by means of enforcing early retirement of employees who
he felt count does not cope in the move to digitize the operation of the business.

As expected, most of the employees were not happy and this affected the morale of their
employees. Romullo sought the assistance of Elma Marasigan, the VP of HR. Elma
suggested a comprehensive program wherein it is not just the mangers who would be
evaluated based on achieving results but even the employees by means of demonstrating to
their employees that their performance affects company results. This in turn will show to the
shareholders that the company’s primary objective is to increase performance.

Yes, I agree with Elma. Because the effectiveness of performance in a management is

fundamental for organizations. Through both formal and casual cycles, it assists them with
adjusting their workers, assets, and framework to meet their essential targets. It functions as a
dashboard as well, giving an early admonition of possible issues and permitting supervisors to
know when they should make acclimations to keep a business on target.

2. If you were an employee of Atanacio’s Enterprises, how would you react to the new
evaluation system that will measure your performance vis-à-vis predetermined outcomes
or objectives?

I would feel a little bit pressured because this means it requires to do more task and be at
your best, but it will help me in my future career. It will help me determine my goals and where
to focus on my lacking skills. It also may include my accomplishments and areas that are in
need in improvement.

The HR professionals, they are the line chiefs or directors that organize in the making the plan just as
