Introduction:

a) Objective :

The Software is for the automation of Hospital Management.

It maintains two levels of users:-
 Administrator Level
 User Level
The Software includes:-

o Maintaining Patient details.

o Providing Prescription, Precautions and Diet advice.
o Providing and maintaining all kinds of tests for a patient.
o Billing and Report generation.

b) Major function :

To effectively and efficiently install an automated file storage system in a

cost justified manner, improve file retrieval time, reduce labor and
associated costs, and minimize missing or lost files.

c) Performance issues :

The proposed system will give the minute information, as a result the
performance is improved which in turn may be expected to provide
increased profits.

d) Management and technical constraints

 GUI is only in English.

 Login and password is used for identification of user and there is
no facility for guest.

2. Project Estimation :
a) Historical data used:

The historical data has been automated from the manual system.

b) Estimation technique used :

This project adapts the system for use on a Personal Computer using a
Visual Interface that would be built using ASP.NET, and Microsoft SQL
as its database management system.

c) Efforts resources ,cost and project duration estimation:

The Hospital Management System does not require enormous amount of

money to be developed. This can be done economically if planned
judicially, so it is economically feasible. The cost of project depends
upon the number of man-hours required.

3. Scheduling :

a) Work breakdown structure

A WBS diagram expresses the project scope in simple graphic terms. The
diagram starts with a single box or other graphic at the top to represent
the entire project. The project is then divided into main, or disparate,
components, with related activities (or elements) listed under them

b) Task network

c) Gantt charts
The main objective of a Gantt chart is to assess how long a project
should take and to establish the order in which tasks need to be carried
out by the ending of the project.
or
The tasks of a project can be quite complex and dependent on each other.
With a project management tool, such as a Gantt chart, all subtasks of a
task can be viewed graphically.

d) PERT charts

Generate PERT chart from Gantt chart.

4. Project resources:

a) People ,hardware ,software :

The hardware resource is a 2GHz Pentium computers running Windows

XP Operating System. Computer should have at least 512 MB RAM and
a minimum of 1 GB of disk space.

b) Special resources:

No such special has been used.

5. Staff organization

a) Structure

The medical staff is composed of licensed physicians and may include

other licensed professionals who are permitted to provide patient care
services in the hospital. The medical staff has the overall responsibility
for the quality of professional services provided to patients by those with
clinical privileges.

b) Management reporting

6. Risk management plan

a) Risk analysis
Analyzing situations or practices that create financial risk for the hospital
and medical staff. Develop strategies to eliminate, avoid or minimize the
risks.
b) Risk identification

To identify the major sources of risks to hospital, staff & visitors.

Develop regular statistical & qualitative risk management reports
Establish mechanisms to maintain & develop structures & processes for a
cohesive approach to the management of clinical & non clinical risk.

c) Risk estimation

We can estimate the scope of risk management. We can analyze the

historical records and the fields in which system is weak and can estimate
the risk.

7. Project trailing and control plan

When changes are to be made in the requirements after the SRS has been
released, the changes shall be brought to the attention of the members and
discussed. Any changes that are to be made will be with the prior approval
of the members and only if feasible and permissible within the constraints of
the project and resources in terms of knowledge and skill of the developer
required. Once the changes have been made to the SRS document, an
updated version of the SRS shall be released and circulated to the members.

8. Miscellaneous plan

a) Project tailoring

b) Configuration management plan (CMP)

Configuration Management Plan (CMP) is designed to provide a
standard outline and format for CMPs so that reviewers, approvers, and
users of CMPs know where to find information
c) Quality assurance plan (QAP)

This section discusses quality assurance’s role in the reviews and audits
that will be conducted during the lifecycle of the project to ensure the
quality, consistency, comprehension, and completeness of the project
documentation and activities.

d) Validation and verification

A Verification and Validation Plan as a part of the Software Quality

Assurance and Verification & Validation Plan will be developed
following recommended departmental standards

e) System testing plan

In this testing entire software is tested. The goal is to see if the software
meets its requirements.

f) Delivering installation and maintenance plan

The HMIS offers several benefits associated for hospital of any size, to summarize
these benefits such as:

• Ease of usage
