Students Studying out of Home, Alternatively Boon and Bane

Do you ever think of leaving the country and going abroad for any reason, if you get the chance?
The answer to this question may be heard as yes from many today. Many are moving out of the
country to find a new life, new people, new experiences, to avoid family troubles or a good
source of income. For students, in most cases this reason may be studying. Many go abroad to
get better quality education or face hardships studying in their own country. Also, we can
explore new systems and new lifestyles of living outside home. But every decision comes along
with some good and bad features in our lives and below we have explained how and why:

 There are many opportunities to learn

Studying abroad can feel different, especially for those students who have never stepped out of
their motherland. Students can find new friends, make better connections. Students begin to
enjoy independence separately from their parents. In addition to studying, they have the
opportunity to travel to educational places with friends. As students start to live on their own,
they become responsible. They get accustomed to doing laundry, managing places to stay,
preparing for lunch and dinners on their own etc. In abroad students can advantageously earn and
study altogether which can become a great opportunity later in future.

 Starting something newly and in a different way

Not every student goes abroad to study for quality education. Failures are very common things
for students because these things shape their lives. That is why studying in a new and a different
place might feel like a stimulating change to them. It helps them concentrate better on their
studies. They can live their life in the way they want without any judgements. They start to adapt
with new cultures and face new challenges, their perspectives change according to their new
practical life which can be a good start towards their real-life journey.

But there are also many disadvantages. Such as:

 Unaffordable for many

We dream to study abroad for a better life but it may not be easy to afford, especially for students
who are going abroad depending only on scholarships. Many students cannot afford extra
expenses due to their economic situation. Some students have to rely on their side-jobs which
can become very time consuming.

 New lifestyle can be depressing

While we can learn a lot of things from the new culture, it can also be stressful because the
experience would not be the same as for everyone. Students may feel troubled by something they
are not familiar with. Many students can experience bad incidents, such as bullying or online
harassment, many of them might not be able to cooperate with the new rules. They cannot
connect with their family whenever they want. So, the life outside home can become dreary and
upsetting, which would eventually lead to homesickness.

Life cannot possibly happen in the way we want whether it is about living away from home or
struggling in our country. Student life is the most precious time in life. This time is all about to
take advantage of opportunities and deal with difficulties. Likewise, studying abroad can become
tiresome. However, we should see these obstacles as a step towards improvement in life, only
then will the decision to study outside our country become successful.
