 They are books or written works which have creative/artistic merit.
 They all include Fiction and Nonfiction.
 Common genres: action and adventure, classics, comic/graphic novels, detective/mystery,
fantasy, historical fiction, horror, literary fiction, romance, Science fiction, suspense thriller,
biographies/autobiographies, poetry, romance comedy and drama.

Differences

 The key difference between them is their time period.

 Contemporary: current or modern
Popular literature: highly admired, marketable, saleable and famous.
Emergent literature: still coming into view and developing
 Contemporary literature: futuristic
Popular literature: to entertain.
Emergent literature is an integration of traditional and technological driven form of
literature.
