she is today.
Before we start I'd like to invite you to hit that red button to subscribe so that you never miss
out on one of our videos. What's up, you gentlemen? Welcome to Epic rank. We all love
Ellen DeGeneres, the intelligent and humorous talk show host who is known for her dancing
and making her audience smile. We shouldn't have to wonder the reason. In all likelihood,
her own show has been on the air for 16 seasons. That's an entire lifetime of television
hours. The thing that it says about the show is that it's survived through the test of time and
the host must be doing her best. Consequently, Ellen has won numerous awards and has
often affirmed her spot on the map of Hollywood as a comedy heavyweight.

Early Life

Ellen was not always so lucky in her life. To get ellen noticed in the world of comedy she left
college and began appearing at different venues. The breakthrough was when she had to
step out in public. She was able to weather the storm since she had a strong will. Ellen is
now a household name across America and that her fame extends beyond the United States.
In 1958, Ellen was born. Ellen was raised in Metairie Louisiana. After her first semester at
UNO she decided to apply. She was required to earn money and did odd jobs such as house
painting, sales, waiting tables and other odd jobs. Ellen decided that she would like to be a
comedian at the age of in her 30s. As we know now the lady sure does have a funny bone in
her she performed in comedy clubs across the country and by 1984 she was already going
on tour around the country as icing on the cake. She also won the title of the most hilarious
on Showtime American. At the age of 27 she made her TV debut on Johnny Carson's NBC
show. She became attracted to television. After that, she began auditioning for television
parts and was offered parts in sitcoms Laurie Hill and Open House. Ellen's career didn't
really take off until 1994, when Ellen played Ellen Morgan in Ellen the show, which was an
ABC sitcom. Later that year, Patricia Richardson announced Ellen as her co-host on the
Emmys.

Ellen DeGeneres decided that she would come out

Despite her growing popularity. Ellen DeGeneres kept her private affairs secret despite her
growing popularity. When she appeared on Time's April 14, 1997 cover The headline
confirmed whispers. Yep. I'm gay. Three words that triggered an uproar in the media on the
25th of April, when Diane Sawyer (ABC News) interviewed Degeneres on the reasons she
spoke out about her sexual orientation. It was more than worth the risk of negative impact on
her career. It was not something I wanted to do to my entire life without shame. She
explained. Two days later she appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show. The host asked her if
was anxious and she confessed that she was. She also addressed herself with her shakey
demeanor. Everyone says I'm a freak and she admitted it. Degeneres confessed, too, that
she did not anticipate that the media coverage surrounding Degeneres’ revelation would be
as significant as it turned out to be. It was evident that it would be massive she explained to
Winfrey. However, I had no idea it would be this huge. Prior to Ellen's 1997 debut episode,
the ratings were dropping and the episode's rating remained flat. The following year, ABC
decided to cancel the show. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Southern Baptist
Convention demanded a boycott of Disney's ABC. Many advertisers have pulled out from the
show's viewers due to their displeasure over the character's homosexuality.

She continued to walk.

A 2001 TV attempt to comeback quite materialized with Ellen DeGeneres' 2001 CBS sitcom
The Ellen Show canceled a couple of months after its debut. The show was praised for
hosting the Emmy Awards 2001 Emmy Awards in a time of uncertainty. DeGeneres made a
full-fledged comeback just a few weeks after the terrorist attack at the World Trade Center at
the Pentagon. It was not possible to make it anytime soon however, it did arrive with a
vengeance. The first was the debut of Pixar's Finding Nemo in May 2003. The hilarious tale
of Albert Brooks' clownfish voice in search of his son who is missing along with Dory (a
scatterbrain companion) was turned into a worldwide box office hit. The actress played the
role perfectly. Degeneres said that the success of NEMO was a great benefit. In the following
interview, she said to People, "I went through an experience where I had to decide if it was
true where my perception is, everyone hates you now and it was a horrible feeling." She
admitted that she didn't think about this new fame for granted.

She discovered talk-show fame

September 2003. Ellen DeGeneres launched her syndicated daytime talkshow, which
became a highly competitive industry that has seen both successes and failures. It's like
we're beginning a relationship. In the monologue of The Ellen DeGeneres show's debut
episode, DeGeneres explained to viewers. And I've made the decision to commit to this
union. I'll be there every day. I'm sure your commitment will be exactly the same. Contact me
if I'm not in the area. The Ellen DeGeneres Show was an enormous success and her
sexuality is no longer an issue. It was definitely the most watched program on the daytime. In
2017, they reported that Gold Derby the show took home its 10th Daytime Emmy breaking its
tie with The Oprah Winfrey Show to officially become the most awarded daytime talk show in
Emmy history. It was a truly ironic surprise.

Ellen and Portia

In 2001, Ellen DeGeneres met Portia De Rossi. The two were reunited when they were
presented with VH1 Big-in-04 awards in December 2004. They became lovers shortly
following that. They were married within a few months. It's the first time that I have known
that I will be with someone for the rest of my life. Degeneres spoke to People in November
2005. Degeneres got married to de Rossi shortly after the 2008 legalization of the same-sex
marriage by the Supreme Court of California.

She resisted standing again.

Ellen DeGeneres has been focusing on her daytime chat show as well as other projects.
Degeneres also announced that she'll be traveling across the United States for a short city
tour that will begin in the same place where she first stood up in her 15th year. These shows
are the foundation of Ellen DeGeneres' Netflix comedy special Ellen DeGeneres Related. It
was released towards the close of the same year.
