CO1 To define and understand a solid waste management system and its various K4

functional elements including its storage and collection.


CO2 To understand the various ways of handling, processing and transporting solid K3
waste.
CO3 To understand and analyze the physical, chemical and biological processes K4
taking place inside a landfill and the criteria for choosing a suitable site for
landfilling.
CO4 To understand and evaluate the various ways by which solid waste can be K3
recycled and reuse; and the ways by which energy can be recovered from
waste.
CO5 To study and understand hazardous waste, including electronic waste and K3
biomedical waste; its transportation and disposal.
