Implementation of An Online School Supplies Store Management System
1. Introduction /Background
The Mindoro State University (MinSu) was originally the Mindoro National Agricultural
School (MINAS) created by R.A. 506 as a national agricultural secondary public school in the
island of Mindoro. It formally opened its doors for learning on August 26, 1951. The Mindoro
State University is a public state university in the Philippines. It is mandated to provide higher
vocational, professional and technical instruction and training in agricultural, fisheries and
industrial fields. It is also mandated to promote research, advanced studies and progressive
leadership in the fields of agriculture including agricultural education and home technology, with
special emphasis given to agricultural industry, fishery, forestry, and industrial education.
A lot of people most probably students and teachers are suffering in this pandemic. And
because of that, their work and activities are also affected. Face-to-face classes are not
possible as of now and going outside has been limited. By means of that, the implementation of
an online school supplies store management system is the best solution to the students and
faculty of MinSu for they don’t have to worry what they need in school supplies. It is very
convenient for them because they don’t need to go outside to buy, instead they can use this
website, choose and add to cart what materials they needed. The school supplies will be
delivered in Calapan area only.
The focus of the project is to create an online school supplies store management system
that will help the staff to assist all students in MinSU. This project will more convenient for both
students and staff.
The following are the specific objectives of Online School Supplies Store Management System.
At present, the university store doesn’t have any action and operation for students
because they don’t have face-to-face classes as of now and aside from that, the school college
store sales are also affected. This Online School Supplies Store Management System main task
is to give the students and staff a safety, convenient service and to prevent of going outside.
The preliminary project requirements of the Implementation of an Online School Supplies Store
Management System in Mindoro State University- Calapan Campus include the following:
1. Registration and User Login Module – This will be used for creating account of
student of MinSU and using the ID Number and password for the login
2. Search Module- A module where the student can search the items based on the
category on what they are looking for.
3. Add to Cart Module – A module where the customers show the quantity and
product’s details.
4. Check- out Module – A module where the customers must provide their complete
address for delivery purposes, show the total amount of items and decide whether
they can buy now.
5. Admin Dashboard – This is use for managing the system including the sales,
accepting the order, checking the item’s stock and responding to the user’s
messages.
6. Responsive Web Design. The website should also be accessed using Android
phone or pc using responsive web design.
7. Other features suggested by the users will be included, if they add value to the
business.
