Students leave high school without learning the way how to manage

their money. What are the reasons and solutions of this issue?
1)There is a common problem among high school graduates these days where students are leaving
school without any knowledge or skill in personal money management. This essay will outline a number
of reasons for this trend and a number of possible solutions to help tackle the issue.

Firstly, one of the main causes of this problem is that the majority of high school students live with their
parents and are completely financially dependent upon them. Most students do not need to work to
earn money while at high school, as their parents pay for all their needs, and therefore do not gain any
understanding about the realities of earning and saving money. Usually, the only money that students
receive is from their parents and this is typically in the form of pocket-money, which is given with the
intent of it being spent. Therefore, young people only really learn how to spend money, and not how to
earn, save or manage it wisely.

However, there are a number of viable solutions to help students deal with this problem. Firstly, basic
money management skills could be included as a compulsory subject for students in their high school
years, which would help equip them with the knowledge and skills to manage their own personal
finances when they leave school, move out of home and enter employment. The second possible step
that could be taken to help curb this problem is through education at home.  Parents need to take
responsibility to make sure that their children are adequately educated in such matters to ensure their
children maintain a successful and independent financial situation after graduating and leaving home.

In conclusion, although money management is a problem for a lot of school leavers, there are a number
of viable solutions to counteract this problem.

Vocabulary highlights:

 Personal money management skills: kĩ năng quản lí tiền bạc cá nhân

 Financially dependent upon parents: phụ thuộc tài chính vào bố mẹ

 Pocket-money: tiền tiêu vặt

 Equip them with the knowledge and skills to manage their own personal finances: trang bị cho
họ kiến thức và kĩ năng để quản lí tài chính cá nhân

 Enter employment: bắt đầu xin việc

2)Nowadays, high school graduates are said to be lacked the basic skills at managing money effectively.
There are a number of reasons behind this point of view and several solutions should be proposed to
deal with it.
There are two fundamental reasons why students at high school ignore the important benefits of money
management skills. One reason is that they are fully guaranteed in in terms of finance by their parents.
Because of this, they seem to be irresponsible for spending money they are offered effectively. In fact,
they easily waste much money on their own interests such as playing computer games or hanging out
with their friends in shopping malls. Another reason is that, because of high pressure of final exams,
students only concentrate on acquiring academic knowledge. Moreover, considerable advantages of
managing money skills are unlikely to be widespread among students.

However, measures must be taken by school and family to fulfil this important skills for young people.
Firstly, parents should instruct their children how to manage their money as soon as possible. For
example, they can help their children open a bank account in order to save their lucky money. Also, they
can buy the young some helpful books which broaden their financial knowledge and allow them to learn
from spending money tips in these books. Secondly, teachers at high school need to teach this skill as an
additional subject or in extra-curricular activities because of its valuable advantages.

In conclusion, only by changing the concern of students about spending money habits will the
awareness of money management be improved

3)It is true that numerous high school leavers have not equipped with the knowledge and skills to
manage their own personal finances. There are various reasons for this, but measures could be taken to
tackle the problem.

To commence with, one of the leading causes of this trend is that overindulgence and overprotection
from parents. The majority of high school graduates are usually live with their parents and are entirely
financially dependent upon them. Typically, parents provide their offspring with expenditure in the form
of pocket money; therefore, many children take their parents' material support for granted. As high
school leavers only know how to receive money instead of earning or saving it wisely, they are unaware
of the paramount importance of money and tend to be lavish money upon unnecessary purchases
without forethought.

Another cause is that the educational system places more emphasis on theoretical subjects like math
and science, whereas essential soft skills, including personal financial management, are being neglected.
As a result, the student is poorly provided with the knowledge and understanding of managing money.

However, solutions can be considered in order to help students deal with this problem. Firstly,
educators should include money managing lessons into the school curriculum under the form of an
optional subject. This subject able to raise children's perception of money's value as well as various
methods to balance their expenditure and income after leaving school and enter employment. Children,
therefore, gradually form-wise spending habits and skills to control their spending.
The second possible solution that could be taken to help curb this problem is through education at
home. Parents should take responsibility to ensure that their offspring are adequately educated with the
knowledge and skill to maintain their financial situation after graduating from high school.

In conclusion, it is clear that there are various reasons for the lack of financial management skills of the
high school leavers, and steps need to be taken to counteract this problem.
