take part in this interview, she agreed for which I am happy with and I spoke about
my reason for conducting this interview.

I focused on the point of confidence where she felt a bit confident at that time.

It was a casual talk, and I ended my first session with my client.

13 | P a g e
SESSION-2
Counsellor: Hello once again, can you tell me about your personal details like your
family, study, what are you doing currently?

Counselee: Hi, my name is M, my father’s name is MR.K, my mother MRS.A , I have

an elder bother H, I stay with my family.

Counsellor: What do you like most about yourself?

Counselee: I like everything about me, but the most important thing is I do what I
like, I also take other’s opinion but at the end I will do whatever it takes to be happy.

Counsellor: OK. When you told to me that regardless of what others opinion is you do
what you like, but there may be situations where clashes may occur so did you ever
face a situation like that where you must keep aside your priorities apart and follow
others?

Counselee: There will be situations where sometimes you might be right and
sometimes wrong at that point of time, I will take time think about it, if I feel that’s
right then I will go for it otherwise I wouldn’t.

Counsellor: Yeah okay. Would you like to share about your life?

Counselee: I have a very simple life with a set of friends who are close to me, and I
have my family around me all the time. I can say that my life is a simple routine life
but in this time also I chill out with my friends when I get some time.

14 | P a g e
SESSION SUMMRY
We spoke about my client’s family, the things which she likes about herself and about
her life, her hobbies, likes and dislikes. She also told me how important her opinions
matter to her and happiness is the key for her to live her life in the way she wanted it
to be.

We both became comfortable by end of this session, and I have got the answers right
away by this our second session was done.

15 | P a g e
SESSION-3
Counsellor: Could you tell me about me about your studying.

Counselee: I had done my study in two schools of ICSC and of CBSC syllabus passed
out from D.A.V.CP. S, my inter was from Sir Chaitanya college, my degree was from
St. Joseph’s college for Women. In my 10th grade there are many up and downs, but
life has to move on right, so yeah and after my degree there was pandemic (COVID-
19) all over and I was stressed due to the situations around me, that was all about my
study background and finally I got my job after 1-2 months struggles.

Counsellor: What kind of ups and downs did you face in your 10th grade would you
like to share it?

Counselee: They are causal discomforts like having small fights with friends, the
percentage of marks you score like it is important right, even though you have
knowledge everyone will see your marks and judge you. Nowadays people only care
about marks, no one cares about how much knowledge you have on the subject.

Counsellor: Yeah, I understand, so as you were saying about all these you used a term
called judgment right so what does that mean to you, have you ever been in a situation
where you faced that kind of judgment by others?

Counselee: Yeah, at every step you take, there will be people to judge you no matter
what. I don’t like how people simply judge others when they don’t know what the
reason behind it is, and yes, I have been in that situation and at the end all that matters
is how you take it. I feel it’s wrong whenever people try to change themselves just
because they are being judged by someone else, if you want to change truly then you
can do whatever you want. I just want to say if people judge you let them, you know
yourself better than anyone so that is my policy.

16 | P a g e
SESSION SUMMARY

reason why?

Counselee: It was the time when I was still studying my final year of degree and
pandemic came it was my last semester as colleges declared holidays, I was very
relaxed without having any plans, as I am at home my parents used to ask me what’s
next, at that time they pressured me so much.

Counsellor: Oh! that is hard for you, what did you do at that time, did you have
anyone by your side to console you?

Counselee: Yes, again my family only told me about the importance of future and my
brother had directed me in the right path and I am thankful for that.

Counsellor: OK. So now what are you doing now?

Counselee: I am doing my job right now.

Counsellor: Ho that’s great to heat congratulations, what are the changes that you got
before having a job and after that?

Counselee: I feel more responsible now compared to my past and I feel proud for
earning by myself like making money and buying stuff with my own money it’s a
great feeling, I am more confident in speaking in front of everyone now than before
and I improved my speaking skills also at the same time I learned how to be patient in
every situation.

Counsellor: That’s wonderful to know. How are you handling your job in times of
stressful situations and did you ever feel like quitting your job?

Counselee: At first, I use to be very irritated but later on I got used to it and I had to
travel so much but I got friends later on and now I enjoy it coming to office my
manager is very good and understanding person, if I am not well I will take the
permission of manager and go to sick room and take rest until I feel a bit comfortable.
I come home and take a shower and think about it and I say to myself let’s try it again,
so I go on with that flow.

mean like in which way it helped you?

Counselee: Yeah, it gives you the experience of your past situation and strengthens
you to face any situation that comes in future. Hardships train you to be a strong
person.

CASE STUDY -1

SUCCESFULL PERSON

INTRODUCTION
Success is a most powerful word. Many of us run behind it and most of us want to be
successful in our life .So what is it about being successful? Does this mean acquiring
money or fame. Well, it is different for each individual.

DEFINTION OF SUCCESS
According to Oxford dictionary success means accomplishment of an aim or purpose
in one’s life. This is the definition of success in theory but when it comes to reality
everyone has different concept for definition of success.

It is to analyse our happiness, what makes us fulfil and what truly motivates us to
reach that goal that is set before us. No one knows us better than we do our self. True
success is understanding our dreams and working towards them joyfully till we reach
the destiny which we have planned for us.

HOW SUCCESS CAN BE ACHIEVED

There are so many ways to achieve success and have been coined by many great
people in our society, but the main thing is to have a positive attitude even though
sometimes we are let down. These are some of the things which one can follow to
achieve success.

 Focus on commitment, not motivation.

 Seek knowledge, not results.
 Make the journey fun.
 Get rid of stagnating thoughts.
 Use your imagination.
 Stop being nice to yourself.
 Get rid of distractions.
 Do not rely on others.
 Plan.
 Make it work.

54 | P a g e
QUALITIES OF SUCCESS
To have success is a very hard thing but if we focus on it without any distractions, it
will be useful for us. Some of the qualities to attain success is one must have the
determination to work hard towards the goal you must be responsible and must be
accountable for the decisions you make and know yourself better then comes the will
power to do something if you want anything you must work for it no matter what, you
must be patience enough through your failures and frustration and understand what
went wrong. Integrity is one of the qualifications that is to be honest and truthful and
the other one is having self-confidence when you have trust in you are already one
step to reach success.

HOW CAN ONE ATTAIN SUCCESS?

For one to be successful, the most important thing is to set goal and objective .Only
through setting goal one can have something to work towards for achievement .The
main thing is to have determination and work towards the progress of goal oriented
behaviour without stepping back and work hard no matter what it takes and how
difficult the path may be do not give up until you reach the goal .It is important for all
of us to follow these skills in order to be successful in life.

SESSION-1

In the first session if the interview it was all about knowing my client behaviour,
attitude was he interested or not. How is he responding to my questions an all After
telling my client the purpose of conducting this interview he was happy to share his
details of life and everything with me.

I felt so glad and happy as he came forward to tell me his life story and how had he
succeeded in his life. He seemed very confident in his answers maintained a good
posture answered every question with a smile and seemed involved in the interview.

He was honest in giving answers to every question. The first session really went
smoothly like I asked very simple questions like his hobbies what he does most of the
time. What is his present status how life is going on etc. MR.JP was very enthusiastic
in giving every answer and we both had a nice interview session together me as a
counsellor and JP as a counselee.

By the end of the first session my goal of questing my client went very well and I got
the information of what I have prepared for my first session.

56 | P a g e
SESSION-2
In session two it was about my client’s personal information like his background,
family, study, current job. We started off with the family details my client is MR.JP,
Male, he is of 35 years he is the last member of his family.

Father-MR.AR, Mother-MRS.S, Has two elder sisters and both married and have kids
.His schooling was in Navodaya from 10th grade to 12th grade, his post-graduation
was done in Vishakhapatnam by staying with 2nd sister house and then after
completing his study one and half year worked as a lecture in micro biology
department after that he got an opportunity to study in Australia so he went and
studied graphic designing there and worked for 4 years in that field there in Australia
itself .He thought of changing his career path and worked as a normal employee in
stores.

Right now, my client lives in Australia and has a citizenship over there and current
job is a manager position in exports and imports enterprise.

Our second session ended in this way by knowing my client’s life and his current
status in his life. It was informative and got to know about lot of things about MR.JP.
I got the desired answers which I have planned for in this session.

57 | P a g e
SESSION-3
By this time in the third session my client became comfortable with me and was
willing to answer the question which I put forward this was considered more like and
emotional session as the client opened a bit about himself and the emotional stress and
situations, he had faced in his lifetime.

My client come from and average family system and going to Australia was a very
huge step that he has taken and with the help of his friends and the money which he
earned while doing his job as a lecture got him to go to fulfil his dreams.

Initially stage was tough for my client, and he said they was no emotional support as
he stayed away from his family and there is no one with whom he can share and then I
asked about how he managed all this, and he said he has learned to handle the things
from his childhood, so he motivated himself to achieve the purpose he had come no
matter what and decided to fulfil his work.

I asked my client if he had any difficult period then my client MR.JP said the 1 st 6
months are very difficult as he must do the graphic designing work which required
computer, but he is not financially stable to have his own computer, so he used to stay
in the college library and used to do his work and by this he topped in distinction with
good percentage.

I asked him his breakdown point and how he managed to come out of it he then said
one year he is financially very low and it is even difficult to pay the bills and his
family was also pressuring him about marriage .He said that it has become very
difficult to balance both his goal and family but he said that he gave the 1 st priority to
his goal so that once he reach a stable position and succeed the can he look after his
partner. He said that in each step he planned and executed according to that, and that
bible and prayer was his comfort place to reside with anytime.

Like this went off with session 3 with my client in this session he was very
comfortable with me he opened himself up to me and gave me the answers very
confidentially and with honesty. I was glad to choose my client.

58 | P a g e
SESSION-4
In this session it was all about his positive attitude towards the problem or difficulties
he faced and how did he overcome and become successful in his life and the proudest
moments of his life.

I asked the most important quality that the think helped him to be successful and he
said that he is self-motivated all the time then I asked how he has acquired this did he
watch like ted talks or anything which helped him? He said that he has developed this
by his own and quoted that “Only you can understand the depth of you own problems
and find a solution to it”.

He said that even though he has free time he uses to keep himself busy with one or the
other work as he thought that an empty mind is a devil’s workshop. He said that he
never saw his difficulties as his hardships and quoted “I think difficulties are the part
of the process in achieving success”. I asked what he used to think when he is put in a
difficult situation his answer was, I think about the end point and the prize which I get
after I achieve my goal.

I asked him to tell his most proud moment in his life till now then my client said about
a situation when my client’s father was suffering from cancer and was in need
financially one of his relative wanted to help them instead of taking help my client
father refused to take help and said that my son will take care of me so no need .The
trust which the father had on me had made me feel proud at that moment said my
client with a smile on his face.

My final question to my client was if he would want to give any suggestions to have
success in one’s life what would that be he said “Focus only on the goal not on the
suffering or problems which come on your way cause when you focus on your goal
then can you solve your problems and be successful in your life.

This session ended very well, and I got a lot of things to take away and I was satisfied
with my work till now.

59 | P a g e
SESSION-5
In the last and final session, we discussed about how happy his life is and how
satisfied he is with his life and my goal is to tell him the results and I was glad to
know his successful story and now he is well settled in Australia with a good job and
is a citizen of that country and is also ready to get married.

I also did the test administration on this final day with my client told him that it was a
great pleasure to interview MR.JP and to know him and thanked him for accepting my
request and being patience with me throughout all the interview session.
