QNO : 2.
Calculate the equivalent resistance of following
resistor network ?
1ST .
SOLUTION.
Given:
R1 = 20 Ω
R2 = 20 Ω
ASSIGNMENT NO : 1
R3 = 20 Ω
R4 = 20 Ω
R5 = 10 Ω
Re = ??
Solution:
Formula: 𝑅𝐸 = 𝑅1 + 𝑅2+𝑅3+𝑅4 …
𝑅𝐸 = 20 + 20 + 20 + 20 + 10
𝑅𝐸 = 90 Ω
2nd
Given:
R1 = 50 Ω
R2 = 100 Ω
R3 = 500 Ω
Re = ??
Solution
1 1 1 1
Formula = = + + …
𝑅𝐸 𝑅1 𝑅2 𝑅3
1 1 1 1
= + +
𝑅𝐸 50 100 500
ASSIGNMENT NO : 1
1 10 + 5 + 1
=
𝑅𝐸 500
1 16
=
𝑅𝐸 500
500
𝑅𝐸 = 16
𝑅𝐸 = 31.25 Ω
3rd
Given:
R1 = 20 Ω
R2 = 30 Ω
R3 = 50 Ω
R4 = 20 Ω
ASSIGNMENT NO : 1
Re = ??
Solution:
First parallel connection(R3, R4)
1 1 1
Formula :
𝑅5
= 𝑅3
+ 𝑅4
1 1 1
𝑅5
= 50
+ 30
1 80
𝑅5
= 1500
1500
𝑅5 = 80
R5 = 18.75 Ω
Equivalent resistance :
RE = R1 + R2 + R5
RE = 20 + 20 + 18.75
RE = 58.75 Ω
ASSIGNMENT NO : 1
QNO : 3.
Find the Equivalent Resistance, REQ for the
following resistors combination circuit.
Given:
R1 = 6 Ω
R2 = 8 Ω
R3 = 4 Ω
R4 = 8 Ω
R5 = 4 Ω
R6 = 6 Ω
R7 = 8 Ω
R8 = 10 Ω
R9 = 6 Ω
R10 = 2 Ω
Re = ??
we can find the equivalent resistance of the R8 to R10
combination and call it RA.
ASSIGNMENT NO : 1
RA + R7 = 4 + 8 = 12Ω
This resistive value of 12Ω is now in parallel with R6 and
can be calculated as RB
QNO : 4.
If the resistance of an electric iron is 50 Ω and 3.2 A
current flows through the resistance. Find the
voltage between two points.
Given :
I = 3.2 A
R = 50 Ω
Solution:
V = IR
V = 3.2 x 50 Ω
V= 160 VOLT
QNO : 5.
ASSIGNMENT NO : 1
An EMF source of 8.0 V is connected to a purely
resistive electrical appliance (alightbulb). An electric
current of 2.0 A flows through it. Consider the
conducting wires to be resistance-free. Calculate the
resistance offered by the electrical appliance.
Given:
Potential difference (v) = 8
Current (I) = 2A
V = IR
R =V / I = 8/2
R = 4 Ohm
