PIPE WALL THICKNESS CALCULATION

Nominal Wall Thickness of Pipe t= (PXD)/(20XFXEXSXTder ASME) = 9.55 mm

Nominal Wall Thickness of Pipe +Corrosion Tickness tN=t+A = 15.55 mm

ADEQUACY CHECK

The nominal pipe thickness "tN" shall satisfy the following Criteria:

a) tN=˃ 4.8mm

b) D/T ˂ 96 Pipelines on land

c) D/T ˂ 60 Offshore Pipelines

Nominal Wall Thickness (Min) tN = 15.55 mm

Availalble D/T = 15.85 mm

Selected Pipe Wall Thickness,T = 21.44 mm

BEND WALL THINNING CALCULATION

For Bending of pipe, an indication of thinning as percentage of Wall Thickness is given by the empirical formula specified in PD 8010-1 and given below:

Percentage Wall thinning =50/(n+1)

Where n= inner bend radius/Pipe Outside Diameter

Wall Thickness after bending (1-Bend Thinning%)XT

ADEQUACY CHECK

TO check the adequecy of the selected wall thickness "T", the pipe thickness after bending shall be greater than nominal wall thickness "t N"

Pipe Wall thickness after bending ˃ 'tN'
