The requirements of installation are mainly dependent up on the type

of work to be carried out in the space in question. The no of
Luminaries for the space is calculated by taking in to account of the
visual task to be carried out in the space, the area of the space,
reflection factor of the ceiling wall and working plane and the room
index and also the maintenance factor.

In all case the reflectance of ceiling wall and working plan are
taken to be 0.7, 0.5, 0.3 respectively maintenance factor of 0.8 are
taken.

For all residence RZB type incandescent Luminaries are used. The
following illumination level is taken for various type of visual task to
be carried out.

No. Visual Task Average Illumination (Lux)

1 Kitchen 500

2 Bed room 150

3 Toilet 100

4 Corridor /Lobby/ 100

5 Balcony 100

6 Verandah 100

7 Living/ dining 200

8 store 200

The room index is calculated from

E Average illumination

A Area of working space

UF utilization factor (0.69)

MF Maintenance Factor (0.63)

UF is found from photo metric DATA of chosen luminary.

Space height ratio taken is 1.25 and each lamp has an initial output efficiency of 85 lumen per
watt.

Each room has height of 3 meter and the ceiling to desk height is 2 meters.

So based on this calculative we can determine the number of lemonier (lamp) for every room.

Efficiency

*lumen per fixtures=lumen efficiency (lumen per watt) X each fixture`s watt

*lumen of efficiency is defined as the ratio of lamp output divided by the

total input.
