MODULE 1: COURSE ORIENTATION

Lesson 1
ACTIVITY 1:
Read the LDM Course Overview. Reflect on the overview by answering the following
questions. Write down your insights in your Study Notebook.

1. What is the main delivery of this course?


2. How can this course help ensure that you will be able to deliver quality instruction
in the “new normal”?
3. What are the two support mechanisms that will help you with your learning in this
course?

ANSWERS:

1. The training delivery is mainly guided independent study through the self-learning
modules with peer learning and technical assistance/coaching components.

2. I think this course will help me ensure that I will be able to deliver quality
instruction in the “new normal” by proper implementation and management of the
alternative learning delivery system.

3. The two support mechanisms that will help me with my learning in this course are
the self-learning modules and co-learning and collaboration through the Learning
Action Cell (LAC).

ANSWERS:
The top three (3) challenges to having successful LAC are the following:
1. Communication – Members of LAC Team should have a good communication
with each other regarding their plans about LAC procedures.
2. Internet Connection – Poor internet connection is one of the primary reason why
most of LAC session fail. Sometimes technical problems occurs in the middle of
the session that result to interruption of discussion.
3. Availability of teachers – Because of work-from-home, teachers are not well-
focused on their work from school. Household chores affects the work-from-
home set up.
