Skills
I am talented in many areas. I am a passionate writer and reader, as well as editor. Most importantly,
I love politics. I have an understanding of the factors and philosophies impacting policies of today
and the past. Languages are something with which I am proficient, understanding intermediate
Spanish and basic Latin. Being extroverted is a talent of mine and I believe my communication skills
are excellent and professional. A wide variety of skills and talents help me accomplish whatever job
needs to be done.
Experience
SEPTEMBER 2018 - MAY 2020
Northwestern Monthly, Northwestern Middle School - Editor-In-Chief
I was Editor-In-Chief of my middle school newspaper for the first two years of its existence. At the
Northwestern Monthly, I helped develop and maintain a website. I led a team of about 15 students
who I directed to publish a multi-page newspaper on a monthly basis. Writing an editorial every
month, I advocated for greater inclusion in schools and tried boosting morale.
At the Milton High School Democrats, I kickstarted a very involved and busy career with the High
School Democrats of America. I planned a voter registration drive for our chapter and attended
seminars on getting out the vote. In June of 2021, I wrote our chapter’s bylaws.
I am the Development Coordinator at the Georgia chapter of the State of the Students, a youth
civics-based nonpartisan nonprofit connecting youth and their elected leaders. At the State of the
Students, I help organize a membership of more than 20. I take part in some interviews with
politicians to discuss politics and civics.
From March to April, I was a candidate for Chair of the Georgia High School Democrats. Starting off
in a candidate field of three, I was one of the remaining two candidates after an opponent dropped
out and endorsed me. I campaigned on plans and ideas rather than vague ideologies. While I
ultimately lost, I learnt invaluable lessons regarding politics, leadership, and the inner workings of
2
Democratic politics. At the Young Democrats of Georgia Convention, I proposed a resolution and
platform amendment, both of which passed with overwhelming support.
I am a monthly contributor to Libel, the publication of the International Federation of Liberal Youth. I
write articles examining American politics and history, foreign policy, and other political concepts.
My passions for writing and politics combined in this perfect opportunity, writing for a large and
international audience.
I sought to see how else I could serve the Georgia High School Democrats. I applied for and got
accepted as a member of the inaugural Advisory Committee. In the Advisory Committee I advise and
assist the Georgia High School Democrats Board of Directors in running the state chapter and
expanding to more of Georgia.
