PRACTICAL RESEARCH 1

QUARTER 4 MODULE 4

LESSON 1: DRAWING CONCLUSIONS FROM PATTERNS AND THEMES

EXPLORE
“Who do people buy and watch illegally downloaded or pirated copies of movies or TV shows?”
Activity 1

5 Beneficiaries of your Research Findings Reasons why they are the beneficiary?
1. Researchers and academic Because researchers and academics working in the fields of intercultural
education and comparative education will be the immediate beneficiaries
of the research.
2. Company Because companies are part/working in this study and because they are
supporting this field.
3. Publishers They are beneficiary because the publisher is the one who publish the
movies or TV shows they must be careful to publish movies.
4. Policy makers The policy makers are beneficiaries of my research findings because they
are working in this field.
5. Participants Maybe because people buy, sell and watch illegal downloads and that’s
why they are participants also a beneficiary of research finding.

Activity 2

Conclusions Recommendations
The researchers conclude that they are buying and The researcher recommends that the illegally download
watching illegally download or pirated copies or tv shows or pirated copies or tv shows should be stopped, even if
because of financial matters. you think that it’s just for fun you should find a right job
so that you won’t come to grief.

DEEPEN
1. What similarities and differences can you find between the significance of the study and Recommendations of the
research paper?
 The differences of significance of the study and recommendation are this, significance is a section in the
introduction of your thesis or paper. Recommendation, you can talk about the step that should be followed in
future studies. Maybe their similarities are its purpose to make it clear why your study was needed, and the
specific contribution, and implement particular policies or actions that you want to follow.

2. Why is it necessary to include a recommendation for future researchers in this section?

 The recommendation for future research is included because you won’t think about any possible ideas you might
have for later research studies. This can help with producing a story paper that will inspire people to think
differently about whatever it is and it could especially inspire new research to come about over time.
LESSON 2: FORMULATING RECOMMENDATIONS BASED ON CONCLUSIONS
EXPLORE
Activity 1. Showcasing Learned Concepts

1. Conclusion as interpretative thinking

 The conclusion presents the interpretation and generalization of the study based on its findings.

2. Conclusion as valid and true

 It must point out what was factually learned from the study.

3. Best evidence
 It must convey all necessary information from the investigation.

4. Conclusion is relation to the review of related literature

 It is a characteristic of conclusions or part of the characteristics / review literature.

5. Conclusion is relation to themes and patterns.

 We/you can’t create conclusion without themes and patterns.

Activity 2. Answer me Baby!

1. Give the connection between conclusion and themes/patterns?
 A theme is generated when similar issues and ideas expressed by participants with qualitative data are expressed
by participants within qualitative data are brought together by the researcher into a single category or cluster.
The conclusion presents the interpretation and generalization of the study based on its findings; you must
summarize it all in a statement that contains the results of your study. So, the theme/patterns and conclusion are
connected because you can’t create conclusion without your themes/patterns.

2. Why should be conclusion the final part of your paper?

 Because conclusion is the summary in all statements that contains the results of your study. It must be brief and
short and must convey all necessary information from the investigation.

3. How can drawing conclusions improve your logical thinking?

 You draw conclusions after a further or through study. On the process of observation or experimentation, you
think, you criticize, you synthesize, you elaborate, and you investigate. Finally, you understand and apply your
conclusions. This is how drawing conclusions develop your logical thinking.

4. What is falsified evidence?

 Falsification is manipulating research materials, equipment, or process, or changing or omitting data or results
such that the research is not accurately represented in the research record.

5. In what way do your conclusions appear unbelievable?

 Maybe when my conclusions don’t have relation to theme and patterns and to the review of related literature
and also the necessary information from the investigation are false.
DEEPEN
“Who do people buy and watch illegally downloaded or pirated copies of movies or TV shows?”
Activity 1
 What were the patterns and themes of the responses you collected for the question?
 The pattern and themes of the responses are this “People buy, watch and illegally download or pirated copies of
movies and tv shows because of financial matters.

Activity 2
 Conclude by answering the research problem. What were the main reasons for buying and watching illegally
downloaded or pirated copies of movies or TV shows?
 Because of the financial matters. This is widely practiced by people who has limited access on payable movies or
Tv shows. This is the easiest way for them to access on new movie trends with paying less or sometimes free. Yes,
it’s forbidden yet many are doing it.

Activity 2.
1. What is common knowledge in relation to referencing your research?
 Referencing your research is to exact sources of data or information stated in your report, particularly those
stated in the review of related literature. And the important things that I learned is commonly used in
referencing styles.

2. What comes to your mind about research papers and academic books with no bibliography or reference list?
 The first thing that comes in my mind is plagiarism which the research papers and academic books have no
bibliography or reference.

3. How do you prove your appreciation for the authors’ expertise and honesty in relation to your research study?
 I will prove my appreciation for the authors expertise by not changing a few words in a section of text and I will
acknowledge the original author that comes from them.
