BHS Twin-Shaft Continuous Mixer LFK

Continuous mixing
The twin-shaft continuous mixer is a powerful and reliable
solution for continuous mixing, especially for high-aggregate
mixes. Continuous mixing places special demands on the
metering and control equipment to comply with the mixing
formula. To meet this demand, BHS-Sonthofen offers proven
complete solutions that include well-engineered weighing,
metering and control systems for continuous operation.

Consistently High Quality of the Mix

The counter-rotating motion of the two mixing shafts as well
as the inclined position of the mixing tools ensure an intense
vertical and horizontal motion of the mix. In combination with
the BHS weighing and metering system a uniform, high-quality
mix complying with the desired mixing formula is guaranteed.

Material Bed as Wear Protection

In the BHS twin-shaft continuous mixer, a material bed is
formed in the mixing trough when the machine is in use,
which delivers effective protection against wear. For special
applications, our mixers are optionally also available with
wear-resistant liner constructed of a special chrome-chilled
iron alloy.

Well-engineered Drive Technology

Our drive units are highly reliable, economical and long-lasting.
The worm gear drives, designed specially for our twin-shaft
continuous mixers, are highly efficient. Power is reliably
transferred by a V-belt drive. A torque support enables the
drive to be freely suspended, thereby preventing shock loads
within the drive itself.

Sturdy, low-maintenance design

Our machinery is sturdy, long-lasting and easy to access when
performing maintenance work. Our twin-shaft continuous
mixers feature large maintenance doors at the bottom and at
the top.

Mix Testing at the BHS Technical Center

At its in-house technical center in Sonthofen, BHS customers
have excellent options for testing their custom materials and
resolve issues related to complex mixes. We will gladly offer
you support and advice in solving your mixing problems.

BHS world-wide service

We offer our customers around the world fast and reliable
service, and are there to respond to any questions or concerns
whenever they need us. We maintain a large supply of spare
parts at our facilities in Sonthofen for all standard types of
machinery – even for all older equipment.

Over 120 years of experience

BHS Sonthofen built its first mixer in 1888, and we have
worked ever since to upgrade and improve on our designs.
Our customers benefits from our decades of experience in the
form of well-engineered products from the market leader in
mixing technology for the building materials industry.

6 Weighing platform with metering station for binding agents

The self-calibrating, dual weighing system makes it possible to achieve extremely high metering
accuracy. It consists of a hopper scale with speed-controlled rotary feeder as the discharge mechanism
and a screw scale feeder that delivers continuous measurements.

7 Mixer platform
The various aggregates are effectively mixed in the LFK twin-shaft continuous mixer located on the mixer platform.
In addition additives are metered and transported using speed-controlled geared pumps. An electro-pneumatic control
valve meters the water. The quantity is measured by inductive flow meters. A compressor station on the mixer platform
supplies the entire mixing system with compressed air.

8 Discharge conveyor
A discharge conveyor transports the mix directly to the building site or for loading onto a truck.

9 Control container
Control station and power control unit are installed in an air-conditioned 20-foot container.
