LEARNING OUTCOMES OF UX INTEGRATED COURSE

a. Create people with expertise who will eventually emerge as leaders to influence future of
UX design
b. Produce professionals with good analytical, thinking and innovative abilities, skilled with
specific techniques, creative in their solutions and knowledgeable about latest development
in the field of user experience
c. The student after undergoing this course will be able to do user research, persona mapping,
customer journey mapping, creating Wireframing and prototyping, user interface designing,
empathy map, user research methodologies, questionnaire building, task flow, as is and to be
task flow, card sorting, building information architecture, visual design for different form
factors, usability testing techniques.
d. The student will learn design process, way of thinking, strategic thinking in design field and
design thinking
e. Acquire practical expertise in the field of problem solving leading to innovation
f. Become proficient in empathizing with users and analysing their needs
g. Enable Students to go for higher studies in the area of their specialization.

CONDUCT PATTERN OF THE UX SPECIALIZATION

IMAGINXP teaches 4 subjects of UX Design and conducts a project. This is skill based training
and therefore, focus will be on practical learning.

RESPONSIBILITIES
A) For IMAGINXP
a. Shall ensure quality delivery of the courses by qualified and trained faculty in online
mode
b. Will be responsible for setting question papers, evaluation of exam paper and
evaluation of project work.
c. Assessments & continuous evaluation will be conducted by IMAGINXP faculty
d. Shall provide internship support to best 5-7% of meritorious performers on the basis of
evaluation and design score
e. Shall be responsible for preparing all reading and training material for all subjects.

B) For the University


a. Registration of students for the batch.
b. Fee collection and payment to IMAGINXP
c. University will be responsible for local logistics, lodging and boarding of the IMAGINXP
trainers and other staff in case of campus sessions
d. University will ensure availability of said hours for the conduct of UX Integrated course
e. Basic Infrastructure —
Classrooms with Audio Video Facilities and White Board
Internet Facility
Computer Lab with Computer systems with minimum i5 processor
Printing of worksheets
Other required stationary material
Online learning platform and tools in case of online classes

BATCH SIZE & STUDENT INTAKE


Minimum 30 students.

CERTIFICATION
Certificate to eligible students will be awarded by IMAGINXP

FEES
Course of 4 papers spread in 3 years (from semester IV till semester VII - 1 paper each sem).
The cost of that will be –
Rs. 25,000/- for complete course (keeping SPIT BTech fees structure in mind)

SYLLABUS
Subject 1: UX Design & Digitalization

CODE: UXDD | CREDITS: 4


1. Understand the evolution of UX design as an industry practice and learning about UX
industry experts.
2. Understanding UX design processes and methodologies–user centred design, 5S
model. Job roles and responsibilities in the UX industry. 6D UX Process
3. UX industry trends. Deep-dive in UX methodologies, case studies in UX design,
heuristic evaluation, understanding product UX lifecycle.
4. Project on UX design implementation with industry relevant problem statement.
Understand how technology and digitalization is transforming different industry segments
– BFSI, manufacturing, retail, automotive, media, FMCG, logistics, oil & gas. Learn how to
understand industry specific problems and user needs and design experiences for
different industries.
5. Research and design for all industry segments using a toolkit. Digitalization for the bottom
of the pyramid. Localization of experience.

6. Wireframing & Prototyping - Practice based module to learn the tools required to design
wireframes and prototypes. Design wireframes on paper and translate paper concepts into
digital wireframes and Understand and practice the techniques involved in designing digital
wireframes for web, mobile, wearables, HMI and other digital screens. Understand and
practice the techniques involved in creating digital prototypes.

Subject 2: Empathy & Its Tools

1. Learn how to understand users, techniques to empathize with users and identify key user
problems.
2. Learn how to gain insights from empathy and define problems statements.
3. Empathy tools – techniques forgetting empathy insights through interviews empathy maps,
emotional mapping, observation, Understand the users, user’s interaction with the
environment, people and culture, UX and societies, creating ethnography mood boards, user
scenarios, storyboard, ethnography and user research, understanding research problems,
data gathering techniques
4. Perform field study to understand people design
5. Project submissions empathy mapping

Subject 3: User Research & Its Application

CODE: UR | CREDITS: 4
1. User research importance, KPIs in User Experience, user research goals, heuristics
analysis, user segmentation, user personas, identifying and recruiting users for the research,
preparing a questionnaire for user research, user research methodologies – Qualitative and
Quantitative analysis, user interviews, focused group discussion, expert reviews, tools for
user research.
2. Understanding cognitive psychology and user behaviour. Application of user research,
building a user lab, creating a user day, constant user feedback, listening posts and user
research, understanding user problems, empathy map
3. Performing user research in the ecommerce industry. Performing user research in the
insurance industry. Performing a user research with 20 users on a chosen problem

Subject 4: Design Thinking & Its Applications

CODE: DTA | CREDITS: 4


1. Introduction to design thinking, history of design thinking, wicked problems, case studies
in design thinking, design thinking process, implementing the process in driving
innovation, design thinking in social innovations
2. Tools of design thinking – persona, customer journey map, AS-IS, TO-BE Processes,
product lockdown workshops
3. An exercise in design thinking – implementing design thinking for making the process of a user
better. Student to choose one industry segment to implement design thinking process.
Design thinking case studies in retail, design thinking case studies in banking, design thinking
case studies in management decisions
4. Design thinking process and implementing it for a digital product
