A Detailed Lesson Plan

in Arts 5
I. Objectives
Given a series of activities, the Grade 5 pupils should be able to;

1. demonstrates fundamental construction skills in making a 3-

dimensional craft that expresses balance, artistic design, and repeated
variation of decorations and colors,
2. constructs 3-D craft using primary and secondary colors, geometric
shapes, space, and repetition of colors to show balance of the structure
and shape,
3. applies knowledge of colors, shapes, and balance in creating paper
beads.

2. Presentation

So now, we have recalled our previous

discussion last meeting. Let’s see if you
can identify all the pictures whether they
are in 3D form or not.

If the object in the picture is in 3D, clap

your hands twice. And, if it’s not, stomp
your foot.

Do you understand, Grade 5?

Before we begin, what is the difference

between a 2D and a 3D art?
Well said, _________.

Okay. Let us begin with the first picture.

Yes, we understand, teacher.

The difference between a 2D and a 3D is

that 3D objects have height, width and
depth. While 2D objects only have
height and width.

pictures presented?
Are you sure?
Don’t you think there are similarities in
the pictures?

*claps twice
And, what are those?

Anything else?

That is correct! Some 3D objects are

created with papers.
Do you know what they are called? None, teacher.

Very good!

3. Discussion
Now that you have mentioned it,

again? They are in 3D-form, teacher.

There are 3D objects that are made with

paper.
Yes. Do you think we can use them to
create 3D arts?

such as paper mosaic, paper quilling, pop

That’s correct. No, teacher.

Did you bring all the materials I asked you

to bring yesterday?

Alright then, bring them out.

Additional Step:
You may create another bead using
different shapes or templates you had cut
from the different colored papers.

And, that’s about it!

Was the presentation clear to you, class?

Here is the outcome.

Let us try to look at our artworks created.
May I have someone from the class to
present their artwork in front?
_____, you go first.
What can you say about yours?

Correct! What art principle does it fall

under?

And the colors used are?

Yes, teacher.

According to the color wheel, we have

two categories of color. What are they

Perfect observation, ________. The colors used complement each other.

If I hold the necklace like this. What can
you say about the placement of the beads?

Looking at the colored beads, they feel

like they emit festive vibes.

How about these; repetition and balance?
No, teacher. The beads are evenly
distributed. The necklace has balance on
