Introduction
This document is written for administrators to describe the initial installation process of the DAVIE4
Toolset. The DAVIE4 Installer contains a mutually compatible set of data and software components
(Toolset).

The DAVIE4 Installer also installs the Common Software Manager. All future updates of DAVIE4 are
managed through the Common Software Manager.

A valid digital certificate, license and ePortal account is required to be able to install and use the DAVIE4
software; these pre-requisites are described in Chapter 2.

These instructions will walk you through the steps required to install DAVIE4.

1. Pre-Requisites
1.1 License
You will need to enter a DAVIE4 license activation code during installation. This 19-digit code is
provided at the time of DAVIE4 software purchase via email. The same license code can be used
for the number of copies purchased. Contact PACCAR’s Dealer Services Group if you need
assistance with the activation code.

1.2 ePortal Account


A valid ePortal account with DAVIE4 rights is required to be able to log on to DAVIE4 application.

2. DAVIE4 Installation

Please read through and follow the instructions listed below.


NOTE: DAVIE4 installation does not install the NEXIQ USB-Link™ driver. Installing your data link
adapter drivers (e.g. NEXIQ USB-LINK™) prior to installing DAVIE4 is recommended.
1. Minimum hardware requirements and operating system

Processor: 5th generation Intel i5 or Equivalent


RAM: 4GB for 32 bit OS or 8GB for 64 bit (Preferred)
Hard Disk: 250GB; SSD is preferred
Internet: Broadband; 4G for Roadside Assistance
USB Port: 2.0 with available port

Compatible: Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, Enterprise with SP1+ and Windows


10 Pro and Enterprise

Incompatible: Windows XP, Vista, Windows 8 and Windows 10 Home

2. If using a laptop computer, connect the power supply to the laptop until the installation is complete.
3. Verify that you have an internet connection during the installation process.
4. Disconnect all Data Link Adapters (i.e. NEXIQ USB Link, Noregon JPRO) connected to the
computer that DAVIE4 is being installed on.

5. To access the DAVIE4 installer, please click on the link provided in your DAVIE4 confirmation email
or download from ePortal>Service Tab>DAVIE4 page.
a. Click on Save
b. Click on Run (DAVIE4_Service-Tester.exe)

Click next to begin installation

Select to Accept License Agreement.


Press Next >

Select Next >

Select Next >

Waiting for installation to complete.

During install, you will see the prompt for


Paccar ePortal credentials.
Enter your Paccar ePortal credentials.
Press OK.

After successfully entering the ePortal


Credentials you will see this screen.
Press OK.

Enter the license activation code from the
email you received. (####-####-####-
####)

In the Computer name field, type the


name of the PC for your record keeping.

Press the Continue button.

Installation will continue…

Once install is complete, click Finish.

6. Launching DAVIE4

Click on the Davie4 icon to launch the


program.

Enter the same ePortal credentials as you


did earlier. Press Login.

Press Close.

Once DAVIE4 opens, click on DAVIE


Settings.

Press on VCI Selection and press
Continue.

Select your VCI Vendor and select your


device vendor from the drop down. Press
Apply.

Select VCI Identification and select your


device from the drop down. Press Apply.

Appendix A
Content Update Not Available? If you need to update your DAVIE4 Content, but Common Software
Manager does not show a Davie4 update available to install…

Potential Solutions:
A - If Customer has Symantec Endpoint protection, Webroot, (or other Virus protection applications),
then request the following three programs be added to the Anti-Virus Application Exemption list:
1. C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\Connect\11\agent.exe
2. C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\Connect\11\ISUSPM.exe
3. C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\Connect\11\ISDM.exe

B - If the customer has added the above to their exemption list or does not have virus protection software
running and they are not receiving the expected notification, please check their IE Option settings.

1. Open Internet Explorer
2. Click on Tools
3. Click Internet Options
4. Select Advanced tab
5. Search for Security Option Named "Check for server certificate revocation*". Uncheck it if checked.
6. Click Apply.
7. Using Task Manager, go to Processes tab and ensure the following three processes are not running:
a. Agent.exe
b. ISDM.exe
c. ISUSPM.exe
8. Restart Common Software Manager by going into Start  All Programs  Software Updates

C – If customer has applied virus updates and set IE security settings, also ensure IE Setting
under Advanced tab for TLS 1.0 is checked as shown below:
