LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Making Sense of Curriculum Implementation

1. Observe class where the teacher is actually teaching. (Watch the video in this link
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zG0Qmgeyh1E )

OBSERVED

2. Describe what the teacher is doing for at least the whole period.

The teacher is following the sequence of the lesson plan as what is

expected. However, he is not just teaching the lesson but he is making use
of a familiar example which will captivate the student’s attention. The
teacher is allowing the students to participate through oral recitation and
group activities. He is also asking for other possible answers and listening
to the students with focus.

3. Write down your observation based on the following questions.

3.1 What were the different learner’s activities?

The different learner’s activities are praying, reciting, cooperating to oral

recitations, listening attentively, working with group and responding to
questions as well as to the assignments given.

3.2 What did the teacher do, to make the learners engage in the activities.

The following are the teachers method to engage the students in the
learning activities:
 He let the students to sing with him
 The teacher makes use of a familiar movie sample
 He let the students to give their opinions and understanding
 He allow the students for group work and discussion
 The teacher asks questions gradually and;
 He let the students to recite the guidelines before giving activities.

3.3 Were majority of the children actively participating? Why?

Yes, majority of the students are actively participating because as what I

have observed in the video, the teacher is calling different names during
the discussion and recitation. He also let them to engage

3.4. Did the teacher control most of the activities?

Yes, the teacher controlled most of the activities however students are
given the chance to work with the activities through group. I must say that
the activities were controlled by the teacher because he give limited time in
answering the anticipated guide, activities – individually and group.

3.5 Did the learners and the teacher together achieve the desired learning
outcomes? Explain

Absolutely yes, both the learners and teacher achieve the desired learning
outcome. The teacher explained and discussed the lessons precisely
which can be understood immediately. The activities given are engaging
and can test students understanding throughout the discussion. As the
discussion goes to a teacher and learner active participation, it is safe to
say that they both achieved the desired outcome. The result of the group
activity speaks itself because both group answered the given activity
correctly.

ASSIGNMENT

The K to 12 is the current reform in our national basic education curriculum. There are
driving forces as well as restraining forces that affect its implementation. In other words,
there are factors that will make K to 12 succeed but there are also factors that will make
K to 12 fail.

1. What factors make the K to 12 succeed? Write these on the left column A. You
may not fill up all the boxes.
2. What’s factors make the K to 12 difficult to succeed? Write these on the right
column B. You may not fill up all the boxes.
3. You see the middle portion is the word equilibrium or balance.

A. Driving Force/Factors E B. restraining Force/Factors
