They are a nuclear family which consists of five members, Mr. and Mrs.
Paed, and their three children. Two of those are girls, and their youngest is a
boy.

According to Mrs. Paed, she gives equal opportunity to each member of


the family to give insights whenever there’s a decision needed to be made, but
most of the time, she’s the one to make the decision, such as on how to spend
and to allocate their monthly income.

General family relationship/dynamics

Their family always find ways to talk to each other, and as possible they
would always try to eat meals with each other. But since Cristine, their second-
born child, works in Manila as a call center agent, and only goes home every
morning after her work, she’s not always around to eat alongside with their
family.

Relationship of the family to larger community

According to Mrs. Cristeta, their family do their best to follow the


community guidelines and participate in community events.

C. Home and Environment

Housing

a. Adequacy of living space

They have an adequate living space for their family, although they
have five members their house can accommodate them all while still having a
lot of space for them not to jam.

b. Sleeping arrangement

Their sleeping arrangement is as follows: Mr. and Mrs. Paed sleep together
in their room, Crisann and Cristine share a room together but most of
the time they do not sleep at the same time because of their
schedules. Lastly,
Christian has his own room to sleep in.

c. Presence of breathing or resting sites of vector of diseases


In the family’s abode, there is a rooster in fornt of their house that the
mother’s brother is taking cared of, that can be a source of some significant
diseases that the family might get and encounter because of the feather and
feces of the chicken that they inhaled everyday

d. Presence of accident hazard


There were no presence of any accident hazard since the grandsons of the
mother’s niece is going to their house often so they made sure that they
protect them from any harm that they might get.

e. Food storage and cooking facilities

_They have a refrigerator for their food storage, and uses electric and

LPG stoves to cook their food.

f. Water supply

They get their water supply through NAWASA water supply system, they
do not have water pump and only uses the faucet.

g. Toilet facilities

_They have one toilet in their house, which has a flush, uses dipper and pail
for bathing and many other function in the bathroom, and has a clean, tidy
and good smell of hygiene when you enter in the bathroom.

h. Garbage/refuse disposal

_The garbage truck only collects garbages 2-3 times a month, so they put all
their garbages in a sack and wait for the garbage truck to collect it.

i. Drainage System
Oustide the family’s house there is no presence of any canals, open drainage,
stagnant water and any forms of water passages that may harm or can
promote diseases to the family.

j. Lighting Facilities

_ They have adequate lighting in their house, each room has atleast one
light bulb to provide light.

Kind of Neighborhood

_ Their family live in a peaceful neighborhood and do not ever had an argument
with their neighbors. According to Mrs. Paed, she does not always visit their
neighbors but when she does, they are all welcoming and possess the “Filipino
hospitality.”

Social and Health facilities available


_ There is a basketball court in their barangay which is open for public use, and
there is also a church where they can attend mass. There are plenty of health
facilities in their barangay, aside from the Barangay Health Center, there are also
maternal health clinics in at least every purok.

_ Their family has a tricycle which Mr. Ferdinand uses for extra income and also for
their family use. There are also tricycles available to ride in every waiting shed and
they also ride jeepneys for transportation.

health problems that is needing special attention aside for her seldom attacks of

Healthy lifestyle practices


The lifestyle practices of the family where adequate and well since they do follow the
regular-balanced diet meal in the food they eat, they have healthy relationship as a
family and also in the community, the also have a positive vibes when handling
problems, they also have a strong faith with God that no matter what happens they will
be strong for their family until the end.

Rest and sleep

The family has a different pattern of rest and sleep since the children is already in
teenage to adult years where they now have jobs and studies to take care of, but
if possible every member of the family sleeps for about 6-8 hrs depending on the
situations.

Exercise/activities
_The youngest of their children, Christian, always play basketball for recreational
and exercise purposes. While Mrs. Paed wants to try to participate in Zumba
sessions if she can find the time to do so, but she tries to walk around in their
neighborhood in the morning as a form of exercise.

Use of protective measure


The family does not have any protective measure like bota since their community
or purok do not experience flood and high tides but they do have kapote and
trapal since the father is a part time tricycle driver and they do have different types
of umbrella to protect them when they are outside from the sun and rain.

Relaxation and other stress management activities


_As a form of relaxation, Mrs. Paed tries to have siesta and/or to watch television
in the afternoon.

_Cristine is a member of Philhealth, while Mr. and Mrs. Paed has SSS as their

The patrilineal side of the family that originates from father of the family has a parent that died from cardiac arrest which his father and his mother died
because of old age, the father of the family has 5 siblings, 2 of them are males and 3 of them were females, both males were dead already but according to the
informant she does not know what the cause is, but the other 4 is still alive and well. The matrilineal side of the family that originates from the mother of the
family which is also our informant, her parents were already dead, her father died because of diabetes and her mother died because of old age, she has 7
siblings, 5 of them were male, 2 of them were female, 3 of her siblings is already dead due to cardiac arrest while the other 4 of her siblings were alive and well,
then when they get married they had 3 offspring 2 females and 1 male that is all well and alive like the mother and father as of now in the present.

The Paed’s house is located on the purok 4 of San Pablo, Malolos City where it can be seen at the other side of the highway of the San Pablo where the Brgy.
Hall is located, In the way in purok 4, you will be passing by the purok 3 where it ends in the Green at Pink house which is the indication that it is the start of
Purok 4, in purok 4 there where a way that you get through the other houses or side of purok 4 when you pass through the palayan that has very narrow road ,
but before you get there you will be passing by the house of the Paed as illustared above.
