Self-defense: Attack is the best defense!

AIM
1. Telling kids the importance of self-defense.

2. Helping children to feel more confident and defend themselves when


needed.
3. Develop a habit of daily exercise to feel fit and live a healthy life.

DURATION

1 Hour

MATERIALS REQUIRED

No additional material required.

DESCRIPTION

Session will cover the topics listed below in the same order:

1. Basic definition of self-defense and why it is important.


Self-defense is the only honorable course where there is unreadiness for self-
immolation – Mahatma Gandhi.
I believe attack is the best defense. It is very important to understand the intensions of
our enemy and retaliate before he/she attacks and neutralize the enemy.

2. Warm-up exercise and body stretching.
Warm-up and body stretching is very important to prevent any injury. Warm-up makes
our body for further exercise and other intense activities.

3. Couple of yoga to build good lung capacity and increase height.


During this corona pandemic, it is very important to practice some yoga to increase
lungs capacity. And as all the children are below 18 years of age, we can have some
yoga which helps in increasing height.

4. Introduction and practice of basic types of punches:


a. Front punch
b. Side punch
c. Chin punch

5. Some live demo to build children’s interest.
