ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Confucius, a Philosopher, once said, “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I
do and I understand.” We, the grade 11 students of Accountancy , Business and
Management Strand, believe that when you apply what you have learned, you will be
able to comprehend. This business operation conducted during the Intramurals 2018 gave
us a chance to widen our understanding and improved skills about managing one’s
business. We can say that we all started empty, but after we were all full of experiences
and knowledge.

We will not arrive in this state without the approval of Mrs. Gemma P. De
Guzman of this proposed project, and for the collaboration of ideas of Ms. Rinalyn
Ayhon and Ms. Joan Aguillon. Thank you for providing us knowledge and skills, and for
guiding us all throughout the activity. We are grateful for your help, support, patience,
suggestions, and encouragement.

We have showed in this activity that the spirit of a Johannines will always ignite
even in times of difficulties. Thank you Mr. Juan Primitivo P. Petrola for teaching us to
love what is difficult, and Mrs. Rufina E. Prado for reminding us to be a model. Thank
you for all the support and inspiration, and for all the people who contributed for the
success of this project.

Maraming Salamat Po!

PROLOUGE

Students with different perspectives and diverse personality was unified to learn
business natures and basic accounting. As an application of the things we have learned,
our teachers in Fundamentals of ABM – Basic Accounting 1 and Business Mathematics
collaborated and decided for us to have a small business operation wherein we are
expected to apply proper business procedures.

This document has been written as a proof and as a major requirement in

Fundamentals of ABM 11 and Business Mathematics. The actual business operation was
conducted on October 24-26, 2018 at St. John’s Cathedral Schools for the Intramurals
2018. This three-day operation provided us with additional knowledge that is not only
business in nature, but also in coping with different types of costumers, managing
unexpected problems and thinking of alternatives for the betterment of the operation.

This project aims to equip students of business courses with deeper apprehension,
managing skills, positive attitude towards costumers, business interest, and values toward
the success of a real business execution. From our experiences that is written in this book,
we hope that you will use them in your future adversities. We encouraged you to share
your potentials and engage in business activities that will hone you to be a good
accountant, manager or entrepreneur someday.

We believe that true learning is through experiencing. Therefore, this activity

really helped us to acquire new things and enhanced our accounting capabilities.

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT STUDY

Chew & Cheer was the chosen name of our business as we advocate that a person
must not only eat just to feed our body. But also to eat with fulfilment and delight.
The planning of this business is not easy because we need to consider the quality
of the product and the capability of the consumers to purchase our product, as well. We
began with the foods that is usual then something that is new to the people, but at the end
we decided to combine the two elements to satisfy consumer’s needs. In pricing the
products, we also considered the ingredients we used and the equipments needed to be
able to produce it.
During the actual activity, we assured that everything was organized and the
transaction between the clients was smoothly done. We guaranteed that our products were
clean, has a high standard and safe to consume because we observed and secured the
proper sanitation of the food itself, the tools and equipments used, and also the work
place.
All of us executed a good behavior and performance during the activity that
brought us to the success of our business and as we met our goals.
Brief Description of the Project
In economics, resources are decreasing while human needs are increasing. Main
and leading companies are not sufficient in providing the needs of their consumers. Even
though small businesses, like ours, can help to satisfy these needs by producing goods
and services.
Nowadays, people demand for many choices but still consider ideal prices. One of
this project’s objective is to produce quality and safety products at affordable prices,
ensuring that it is suitable on students’ budget.
Introducing variety foods and products to our consumers that meticulously pick
according to their wants. Especially, those foods that is purchased at restaurants at a
higher price.
A good marketing ability will also be incorporated in the activity itself so that we
will meet our goals that are financial in nature. Combining our diverse talents, this project
will show that even at a young age, people are able to give quality services and products.

MARKETING FEASABILITY
Market, otherwise known as the customers, is one of the primary goals of any
marketing strategy should be to identify and meet the needs of the customer. “CHEW
AND CHEER” Offers high quality products that would satisfy or meets the needs of our
customers. Since this SJCS Intramurals 2018 will be held during the week where there
will be many people, we are expecting the Johannines students, teachers, players or
participants of the event, and for the other employees of St. John’s Cathedral School to
patronize the food we are selling. According to Peter Drucker, the aim of marketing is to
know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.
Since we will be also selling most of the studentscomfort food, this would probably if not
surely, maximize our customer’s satisfaction.

MARKET ANALYSIS
A good marketing strategy should be drawn from market research and focus on
the right product mix in order to achieve the maximum product potential and sustain the
business. A market analysis forces the entrepreneur to become familiar with all aspects of
the market so that the target market can be defined. Conducting a market analysis will
enable us to establish pricing, distribution and promotional strategies that will allow
“CHEW AND CHEER” to become profitable within a competitive environment.

TARGET MARKET
Our goal is to reach a subset of the population who may be interested in our
product. That group of customers is our target market. “CHEW AND CHEER” will be
focusing on four target markets. These are the students, guest, faculty members, and
employees.

PROPOSED PRICE
Setting the right price is a crucial step toward achieving the profit. So, before we
can determine the right price, we must know the total cost of the product. To succeed in
this business we should not sell our product below cost. We will do better to have average
prices the fits in everyone’s budget.
