Before I begin with my speech, how many of you have heard Mamba Mentality before, u can

raise up your hand with the MT function. ok Good. So, we actually do have quite a number of
students have heard Mamba Mentality before. Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I would
like to present my speech entitled “Hard work beats talent”. The purpose of my speech is to
motivate you to pursue your dreams and goals even though you are not talented. In my
speech, I will be talking about why hard work beats talent, how to achieve your dreams and
how do I achieve my goals.

The hardest worker in the room is always going to beat the talented guy who doesn’t
work hard. In the end, maybe not every time, but in the end, hard work always wins. Talent
doesn’t guarantee you anything in this world. Hard work always beats talent when talent
think he is too good to work hard. Talent can be a blessing, but it can also be a curse. It can
make you think you don’t need to work as hard as the other guy, And that is a mistake ladies
and gentlemen, because the other guy is HUNGRY. The late Kobe Bryant, one of the
greatest player of all time in NBA has shown the world, hard work beats talent. He inspires
the whole world with Mamba Mentality. He said: Hard work outweighs talent — every time.
Mamba mentality is a way of life, a simplest form just trying whatever that you are doing,
trying to be better every single day. It’s all about 4 a.m. workouts, doing more than the next
guy and then trusting in the work you’ve put in when it’s time to perform. Without studying,
preparation and practice, you’re leaving the outcome to fate. I don’t do fate.” So, how can
you achieve your dreams?
If you want to achieve your dreams, you need to have 3 W’s. You need to work hard;
you need to work smart and you need to work consistently. But you need to have all threes,
you see if you work hard, you work smart, but you don’t do it often and consistently, you
won’t make it. And if you work really really hard, and you do it all of the time, but you don’t
work smart, you are not gonna make it. And it goes without saying if u don’t even work hard,
you don’t stand a chance. But, what does work hard mean? Everyone defines work hard
differently, what you considered working hard, you might get laughed by others, what he
considered working hard, Kobe Bryant might laugh at him. Here’s how I am going to define
working hard, you take yourself to the point of discomfort. It can be physical, it can be
mental, it can be emotional. But you take yourself out of the comfort zone. If you wanna
make it, you have to learn how to be comfortable being uncomfortable. And if you wanna be
great just like Kobe Bryant, you have to make working hard as a habit.(presentation) Here’s
an example, the Miami Heat, ESPN has ranked them at 14th in out of all 30 NBA teams but
they prove everyone wrong and went to the NBA finals led by their leader, Jimmy Butler.
Even though Butler is not talented in basketball , homeless at its young age, being drafted the
last pick in the NBA draft because he is not an untalented player and got called locker room
cancer when he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves because of criticizing his teammate
being lazy and not working hard. Now, he is one of the greatest leaders in the league and led
his underrated team to the NBA finals. Was it talent, or was it hard work and desire that led
to his success? So, if you are planning to use the excuse of talent, think again , think bigger,
think better, think about what you can do with your own work, and work until you achieved
your dreams.
Lastly, Action is always louder than words. So, I would like to show you a clip about
how I achieve my dreams with hard work and perseverance. (video)So, as you can see,I
actually did this few days ago and it is a ultimate challenge for me .I haven’t skip rope for
few years and I always wanted to skip 10 thousands times in an hour but it seems impossible
so I plan to skip 24thousands times in 8 days in tribute to Kobe which means that I have to
skip 3thousand times a day as a warm up for my challenge last week. After skipping 24
thousand times, first, I spilt 10 thousand times into 4 sets which is 3 sets of 3thousand, and a
set of thousand. So each time when I finish a set, I will rest for about 2 mins then I continue
until the fourth set, I will spilt it into 2 sets to make an illusion that telling my mind I will
have to skip 2 more sets of 500times only . Finally, I done skipping it in about 50 minutes
and it actually achieve my target. All I do is having a skipping rope, my hand and leg, hard
work and believe in myself and most importantly, mamba mentality. After explaining my
ways to achieve my goals, you might have question in your head. “ Say only mah, I also can
speak without doing it” “True or not, not so convincing leh”, as John Pym quoted :”action is
always louder than words”, I would like to show you a clip about how do I achieve my dream
with hard work and perseverance.
In conclusion, I have informed you about why hard work beats talent, how to achieve
your dreams and how do I achieve my goals. Therefore, start working out your goal and
pursue your dreams even though you are not talented enough because hard work beats talent.
That’s all for my speech, Thank You!

I have a dream, people might say it’s crazy, people might say I have wishful thinking,
people might say I am joking, “you are not even a professional skipper!”, “you can’t do it
within an hour”, but guess what? I did it, 10,000times in 50mins. Its all about Mamba
Mentality. Mamba out, but spirit never die and forgotten. Peace and Love. Thank You!

3 W’s of becoming a successful person. Work hard, Work smart, Work consistently.

. Talent, is one, might play the piano flawlessly in his young age, run faster than all his friends or
even sing gracefully with his unique tone. But how does hard work beats talent?

U have to had that mindset. What mindset? Mamba Mentality. As the late Kobe Bryant
explained: What about you? Are you going to let your fate come to you OR you create your own fate
by hard work and preserve? In conclusion, the hardest worker in the room is going to beat the
talented guy who doesn’t work hard, no matter what , hard work beats talent. Thank you.

Mamba out,but never forgetten

Talent doesn’t guarantee you anything in this world.

A good education doesn’t guarantee you anything in this world.

The world is riddled with smart people who have never achieved anything of significance.

This world is full of talented individuals that never made it.

The world is full of expensively educated kids that are out performed by high school drop
outs.

Talent won’t get you anywhere if you don’t WORK for it.

Talent won’t get you anywhere if you have no HEART

Talent is NOTHING if you have no GUTS!

The one who is hungrier to reach the top, will always get there before the talented guy.

Maybe not immediately, but in the end HUNGRY always wins.

In the end HARD WORK always wins! In the end HEART wins! COURAGE wins! In the end the
one who is more DEDICATED to reach the top will win.
How can you beat the guy who will do whatever it takes?

You can’t!

HARD WORK always beats talent, when talent thinks he’s too good to work hard.

TALENT can be a blessing, but it can also be a curse.

It can make you think you don’t need to work as hard as the other guy… And that is a
mistake my friend, because the other guy is HUNGRY.

He is hunting your ass down!

Ready TO FIGHT

FIGHT for everything

FIGHT for his family

FIGHT for his LEGACY

FIGHT for everything!

While you REST:

I WILL WORK!

While you rest:

I WILL PLAN.

While you REST:

I will visualize!

While you REST:

I WILL BELIEVE!

While you rest:

I WILL STRIKE!

I WILL NOT STOP! I WILL NOT REST! I WILL FIND A WAY!

If there is no way, i will make my own path. Because your talent doesn’t scare me. It drives
me.

HARD WORK NEVER LIES.

MY DREAM NEVER DIES.

Most people give up in life because they come up with all sorts of EXCUSES why they can’t
make it:

They didn’t get the right education,…they aren’t as talented as the other guy..…the don’t
have the money… Listen:

EXCUSES ARE FOR THE WEAK!

It wouldn’t take you long to find a massive success story, who came from little education, no
talent but a RELENTLESS DESIRE to succeed.

This world is full of stories of GREATNESS from NOTHING.

It is never too late for YOU to start your own STORY.

Every set back, every failure has formed part of your story.

DON’T LET ANYTHING STOP YOU FROM WRITING THE REST OF IT!

YOU ARE HUNGRY!

YOU WILL MAKE IT!

DON’T BACK DOWN!

WIN AT ALL COSTS!
