To limit this settlement, the embankment fill behind selected backfill material as shown in the abutment drawing, shall be done with sand of FM not less than 0.8 complying clause 2.5.3.6 of the specification. The sand layer below ISG, shall be compacted as per above mentioned clause. To facilitate proper compaction, the sand bed may be around 15m long or as directed by the Engineer.
