TOPOGRAPHY SURVEY VILLAGE SCHEME UNDER JAL JEEVAN MISSION

1.0 Preamble
NABCONS has been awarded with the “Survey, Design, Preparation Of DPR Of Multi-Village
Scheme Under Jal Jeevan Mission” in Rajasthan State.

It proposed to carry out detailed topographical & alignment survey for Multi Village Water Supply
Scheme Project for the following Region:
1. Ajmer
2. Jaipur
3. Nagaur
4. Udaipur

The work shall cover Alignment Survey, Topographical survey and field investigation to determine
the suitability of pipeline alignment and other associated structures required for carrying out
detailed engineering.

2.0 Scope of Work

Detailed topographic surveys for project sites, as required for detailed design of the components
to ensure that the water production and distribution facilities can be designed to operate properly
and so that quantities of work and materials required can be accurately determined. The scope
of Ground Survey works is as below.

2.1 Alignment Survey

2.2 Topographic Survey

3.0 Field Survey


Detailed field survey shall be done with DGPS instrument for raw water source area, pipe line
route along/ across different road network for Raw Water Pumping Main, Clear Water Pumping
Main, Distribution network etc.
The details are as under:

3.1 For Alignment Survey:


1. Longitudinal survey along proposed pipeline routes with spot levels taken at maximum
30 m intervals and at every changes of road alignment, road junction etc.
2. RL of each node (pipe junction; road junction; peak/ valley crest along the pipe route etc.)
above MSL.
3. Road width (hard crust / side berm); any culvert / bridge; stream / Nalla crossing; trees/
poles etc. that may obstruct the pipe alignment.
4. Prominent structures along the proposed route viz. Educational Institute, Govt. / Semi
Govt. Offices, Hospitals, Religious Institute etc. with their respective DGPS data.
5. Individual dwelling houses, available water body etc. with their respective DGPS data.
Establishing temporary bench marks (TBM) at different locations of the project area on
permanent structures viz., parapet of culvert / bridge; at plinth of old monument / Govt.
offices/ structures of existing water supply scheme (if any), with respect to Geodetic
Triangulation Station bench mark (GTS BM), including co relating the TBM with DGPS data.

3.2 For Topographic Survey:


1. Longitudinal survey along proposed pipeline routes with spot levels taken at maximum
30 m intervals and at every changes of road alignment, road junction etc.
2. Cross sectional level at every 10 mtr interval and change in road alignment, road junction
in width of 3.0 mtr on both side of road edge or building to building will be taken.
3. RL of each node (pipe junction; road junction; peak/ valley crest along the pipe route etc.)
above MSL.
4. Road width (hard crust / side berm); any culvert / bridge; stream / Nalla crossing; trees/
poles etc. that may obstruct the pipe alignment.
5. Prominent structures along the proposed route viz. Educational Institute, Govt. / Semi
Govt. Offices, Hospitals, Religious Institute etc. with their respective DGPS data.
6. Individual dwelling houses, available water body etc. with their respective DGPS data.

7. Details for all existing ESRs/GSRs/tube well/bore well etc. along with the photo to be
collected while carrying out the survey and details to reflect in final submission.

3.3 For Grid Contour Survey:


1. Net levels at maximum 5.0-meter grid for sites of WTP location, Pump House Location,
ESR locations and any other sites to be provided.
2. Generation of contour overlay at 0.5-meter interval for all the sites like WTP, PS, ESRs
etc.
3. At proposed headworks at-least two temporary benchmarks will be established by the
survey agency.

4.0 Suggested Methodology:


The following methodology has been suggested to expedite the survey works within the stipulated
time. However, the agencies can adopt their own methods keeping in view the submissions in
time and with desired quality/accuracy:

1. DGPS unit to be installed at a considerable higher elevation location for better satellite
connectivity.

2. The minimum observation time for base station shall be 1 hours.


3. In every individual village, independent benchmark to be established.
4. The control points are cross checked with Auto Level machine by double level fly levelling
with the closed traverse and make the correction if necessary.
5. Required number of Control Points shall be established in such a way that the distance between
the DGPS base station & rover shall be less than 3-4 km.
6. Except the dense area in the village the levels will be taken with the rover.
7. The dense area will be covered by the TS machines only where satellite connection is not
strong.
8. Each DGPS unit to be connected with at least 03 rovers.
9. Back closing at every regular interval to be ensured by the survey agency.
10. Benchmark to be established at every proposed permanent structures.

5.0 Equipment & Survey Specifications

DGPS: Equipment to be mobilized at site should be of a reputed make like Leica, Trimble, Topcon
etc. and well calibrated. Machines mobilized should be equipped with:

1. Accuracy of 10 cms.
2. Accuracy (rms) with Post Processing as Static (phase) with long observations for Horizontal:
3 mm + 0.1 ppm (rms) and for Vertical: 3.5 mm + 0.4 ppm (rms).

Total Station: Equipment to be mobilized at site should be of a reputed make like Leica, Trimble,
Robust etc. and well calibrated. Machines mobilized should be equipped with:
1. A laser plummet.

2. Built-in easy to use alphanumerical keyboard for fast entry of numbers, special characters.
3. Distance measurement accuracy on prism as 1.0 mm + 1.5 ppm.
4. Distance measurement accuracy reflector less as 2 mm + 2 ppm.

5. Angular accuracy of 2’’.

• Fixation of BMs / PBMS: Total no. of concrete PBM to be fixed inside one village is 1. Size of
concrete PBM should not be less than 150 (L) x 150 (W) x 1500 (H) mm.
• PBM at any location should be verified by Survey Team- NABCONS prior to its fixing. After
installation of every PBM, and that should be attached in the Final Survey Report.

6.0 Preparation of Maps & Drawings


Survey drawings shall be prepared on AutoCAD base map. The Data Acquisition and processing
of maps includes the following:
i. Collection of all data linked to GPS ground control survey for providing sufficient control points
evenly distributed over the area.
ii. Post processing of ground control data.
iii. Digitization for plan metric data captures.
iv. Field verification and compilation of final maps.
v. Generation of maps for ground validation surveys. The report / survey drawings shall have to
be prepared in AutoCAD form. The Key map /Index Map for the complete project shall be made to
a scale matching to A0 size paper.
vi. Data entry of the ground validation surveys for updating maps for any correction/mistakes.
vii. Updating of the field verified data onto the digital data.

Note: -
i. Cross sections of river crossing alignment routes for a scale of 1:200 plotted to A3 size paper
to be produced.
ii. Key Map / Index map for Road network to a scale matching to A0 size paper.
iii. Final Survey Report along with the drawings to be submitted. Final survey report should
contain the following:
• List of equipment mobilized along with its calibration certificates including the list of staffs
involved in the process.
• Methodology adopted for carrying out survey
• Details of the plot area surveyed for permanent structures. This should contain the Plot Sizes,
Location (with co-ordinates), and respective zone name/number.
• Final list of all the zones surveyed along with their respective areas & locations.
• Details of the type of roads surveyed while carrying out alignment survey. This should include
the detailed breakup of different types of Road encountered with total length. Roads should
be categorized as follows:
1. Major district roads,
2. State Highway,
3. National Highway,
4. Kucha road,
5. CC / BT / BOE roads,

• Details of Concrete permanent benchmarks installed at site with their respective verified
copies duly done at site.
• A map showing the entire project area & maps for individual zones in soft copy.
• Separate list of major structures existing at site along with their location details.
• List containing the details of river/ canal/ nallah / railway crossings encountered at site
within our project boundary along with their location details.
• List of prominent structures along the proposed route viz. Educational Institute, Govt. / Semi
Govt. Offices, Hospitals, Religious Institute etc. with their location details.

7.0 Schedule of Work


➢ Mobilization Time – 03 Days after issuance of LOI/W.O
➢ Ground Work and Final CAD Drawings- 05 Weeks after issuance of LOI/W.O.
➢ Final Survey Report submission- 07 weeks after the issuance of LOI/WO.

8.0Other Terms & Conditions


• Alignment survey will strictly be conducted on the route suggested by the design team.
• The agencies are required to quote their rates for minimum 100 villages of same block.
• Work order and no. of projects will be awarded on the basis of infrastructure of the
survey agency they have and their current work load.
• Calibration Certificate for each machine/equipment mobilized to be submitted to Project
Manager- NABCONS, prior to start any work at site.
• Proper PPE (including facemask, hand gloves, hand sanitizers, safety helmet, safety
jackets etc. should be provided to each team member carrying out the survey.
• All COVID-19 related precautions as per the Govt. Guidelines to be strictly followed by
the laboratory and staff.
• Survey conducting agency should depute one person from their team as Team Leader,
who will be responsible for coordinating and completing the entire work at site.
• Total reports shall be submitted in 03 Phased (each week, survey data of 30 Villages incl.
Dhanies must be submitted).
• Minimum equipment to be mobilized for 100 village groups for the early completion of
works:
i) 02 DGPS,
ii) 06 Rovers,
iii) 03 Total Stations,

iv) 03 Auto Levels.


• Daily survey progress report to be produced and is to be verified by representative of
NABCONS through whatsapp based group or mail in prescribed format.
• After issuing LOA survey agency has to submitted survey program (Work plan for
execution of survey work) and shared with NABCONS for approval prior to the site
mobilization.
• Details of Permanent Bench Mark for datum purpose to be collected from nearest
railway station or any other any other location, as finalized by Client/NABCONS.
• Permanent bench marks to be installed at the locations as finalized by Survey Team –
NABCONS with proper details written over it.
• At each PHED Campus minimum one TBM should be established by the survey agency.
• Demobilization of survey team from site should be done only after taking the prior
approval from Project Manager- NABCONS.
• Deputation of survey team after completion of work as & when required at site should
be ensured by the survey conducting agency without any extra cost.
• Vendors are required to quote rates as per the format provided with Annexure-01.

9.0 Payment Terms:


A. Mobilization Advance – 10% of the order value.
B. On Progressive Submissions of Drawings – 20%
C. On Final Submission of Complete Drawing & Data- 30%.
D. On Submission of L-Section incl. HGL, Pipe Invert etc. -20 %
E. On submission and approval of final Survey Report by NABCONS- 20%

ANNEXURE NO.-01

1 Topographic Survey by taking longitudinal sections at every 30m interval, Per Km
cross sections at every 10m interval on either side of center line of Road
including supply of detailed drawings in appropriate scale complete all
respect as per TOR with covering all features upto 3.0 mtr both side the
road edge. Submission of soft copy in csv, dxf, & dwg format.
2 Survey of villages with a view of Preparation of village index plans Per Km
including all other habitations plans with node to node length, levels of
each node, Node means every change of angle or 30m distance whichever
is less, including all features such as structures (bridges, culverts etc.)
utilities, existing roads, electric and telephone installations, huts,
buildings, fencing and trees, oil, water and gas lines etc. using Total
Station and develop a drawing in AUTO CAD format using the layering
system and Geo referencing including supply of detailed drawings in
appropriate scale as directed by EIC, complete in all respect. With
digitised drawings instead of manual drawings with output in pen drive
(csv, dxf, dwg etc.)
3 Survey of existing constructed area of PHED head works/campus with a
view of preparing site plan indicating out lines of all civil structures and
main physical feature as per direction of EIC such as reservoirs, pump
house, road, canal, culvert, pipe line taking levels at all important
structures, banch mark and ground levels at a spacing not more than 50
m with reference to BM. Submission of one set of prints on appropriate
paper size with suitable scale as per instruction of EIC (no specific
payment shall be made for closing of traverse)
3.1 For WTP (100 m x100 m) Each

3.2 For PS (80 m x80 m) Each

3.3 For ESR (30 m x30 m) Each
