7. Two triangles have equal bases. The altitude of one triangle is 5 meters more than its
base and the altitude of the other is 5 meters less than its base. Find the altitudes if the
areas if the triangle differs by 45 square meters.
8. A piece of solid copper wire of length 100cm is cut into two parts. Each part is then
bent to form a square. It is found that the total area of the two squares is 325 sq. cm. find
the following: a) the dimensions of the smaller and bigger square, b) the area of the
smaller and bigger square c) the perimeter of the smaller and bigger square.
9. Find the area of the figure shown below, if it is the difference between two isosceles
trapezoids whose corresponding sides are parallel.

10. A cross belt goes around the pulleys A and B having a radii of 20 ft and 10 ft,
respectively. The distance between the centers of the two pulleys is 40 ft. Determine the
total length of the belt.
